I liked the product very much. The key in the hidden compartment makes the product much more beautiful. I liked the embroidery on the product very much. It is a product that I can take with me everywhere.

This is a nicely made chess set. I wouldn't call it a classic set due to the size alone as it's rather small (20mm X 20mm version) but it's a nice little chess set that is fancy hand crafted wood set. The set is virtually a box that has a "puzzle" type feature that hides a key in a very seamless hideaway that stows the key. The key is then used to lock and unlock viaa another very seamless keyport that has a means of sliding open the hidden port. It is a puzzle feature that might be unsuspecting for anyone looking at this chess set not knowing that it has this feature. They might be rather confused how to open it not knowing there are these seamless hideouts. The set offers some "diecast" type of figurines that are metal, not sure what type of metal, but they are decently made. They seem to be the pour cast of these metals to form the figures. They are solid, but somewhat small as the whole chess set is of the smaller type. This set is almost portable, but because it's a box, it's not like one of those pocket sets, but it isn't big and bulky for that matter, so I suppose it would be easy to take with you. It does come with a carrying bag that is reminicent of those thin/cheap reusable grocery bags, so nothing too fancy there. This set is built fairly and I suspect being hand crafted makes the price a little more than you might expect. The surface of the board does have a little "divets" in the surface, so it's not totally pristine, it is still nice. If you are looking for a more high-end fancy chess set then this might not be the best pick, due to the price and the peices aren't super fancy in quality, but if you are looking for a nice gift and a nicely hand-crafted chess set that doesn't take up space then this is ideal. It makes a nice decoration for when it's not in use for that matter.

This is a fun chess set. It's not large, but it is big enough for play. The small size makes it easy to display or decorate with, without it taking up too much space like a normal size set would take. The quality is pretty good; the board on top is painted on, so it's not different colors of wood, for example. The finish is nice, but it's not what I'd call perfection. It looks mass produced, and the wood isn't smooth, it has a rough texture on it. A little sanding over the entire set would have really helped this feel nicer to the touch. The pieces are all nice and easy to distinguish except for the king, queen, and bishops. In my view those 3 are all way too similar. I wish they had done something to make those more distinguishable from each other. However, everything else is easy to identify. Our 8 and 10 year old kids have played a couple games already with this set and they really seem to enjoy it, and don't seem put off by the styling of the pieces being hard to distinguish so maybe it's just my Dad eyes. They really have fun hiding the key in the little hideaway hole and unlocking the lid to open it up and put it away. It's a cool set but I do wish they had finished it a little better and made the pieces more distinguishable.

I got this chess set for my 11-year-old son, who is obsessed with chess, and he absolutely loves the hidden key and lock. He said that opening the set is the most fun part! The craftsmanship is truly impressive, and the design is unique. However, I was disappointed that our set arrived scratched (see image), especially considering the price. The wood is also quite soft, making it prone to even more scratches over time. The metal chess pieces feel nice, but they don’t have felt on the bottom, which would have been a great addition to protect the board. One thing I didn’t realize before purchasing is how small the set is—it’s less than a foot by a foot in size. That’s on me for not reading the dimensions more carefully, but it’s definitely smaller than I expected. Overall, while the craftsmanship is beautiful and the hidden lock is a fun touch, I probably wouldn’t buy this again due to the quality issues and size.

This small chess set is awesome. It was my sons birthday present and when his grandfather came over, they broke it out and played a few matches. He loved it. The craftsmanship is really nice and it's pretty sturdy. The pieces are metal and weighted nicely. Comes with a small bag to carry the set in. The top opens up and inside is a velvet lined storage area for the pieces. It really is a super nice set. Can be hard to differentiate between a few of the pieces like the K and Q but other than that, this set is superb
