Great for teaching!
These are great for teaching addition and subtraction. I also like how you can write on it with a dry erase marker.

For the price- these are awesome. I can't afford "real" Cuisenaire rods but needed them for some math lessons my son is taking. I ordered these and we love them! The colors are vibrant and nothing is chipping or anything. They are magnetic so they are easy to use without having things rolling around or falling. I did choose to draw lines on one set so he can see how many units each is made up of- but even without the lines- I recommend these!.

Great teaching tool!
I read the description and looked carefully at the picture before I bought these. I used them all year to teach my 1st graders so many different math concepts. There is an iPad app of Cuisenaire Rods that I was able to hook up to my SMART board and demonstrate as well. These are timeless math tools and they stuck to my white board and my teaching cart's white board very well and held up nicely. Highly recommended for teacher demonstration purposes.

By the reviews I expected that the paper would peal or something horrible. Nope
I don't know what others were expecting, but given that the are magnetic Cuisenaire Rods, I completely expected them to just be flat rods. What else would they be? So, you get flat rods with magnetic backs. By the reviews I expected that the paper would peal or something horrible. Nope. Just magnetic colored strips. Which is kind of what you want when you are looking for rods. One set wasn't enough so I went ahead and ordered a 2nd set. The only thing I wasn't expecting is that the rods are large. I suspect the unit is an inch square, but I didn't measure. I don't know what others were expecting when they ordered these. If you thought they were going to be actual rods that are magnetic, you would have had to pay much more. I considered making my own, but the cost was going to run about the same, and mine would not have been as sturdy or nice.

Flat magnetic pieces
I gave a 3 stars because when I purchased this it did not say it was going to be flat magnetic pieces. They are flimsy and are hard to move around since they are flat. My goal is to use these in my classroom. An idea: since they are flat and magnetic I will most likely bring in a baking pan (we don’t have magnetic boards).

Good
I give these a four star. I don’t see them lasting super long with a child using them. They magnets but can be used for several educational activities.

Perfect for little hands
Perfect for little hands. I do activities with my 3-7 year old grandkids using these rods. I’ve put magnets on the back and they use them in the magnetic white board

NOT Cuisenaire RODS
Cuisenaire rods were designed to help children learn basic concepts of math, including area and volume. These are flat, so utterly worthless as far as teaching anything about volume goes.
