Great Quality Hay at a Great Price
I’ve purchased this Kaytee All Natural Timothy Hay (12 lb) multiple times and it’s consistently been a great value. It always arrives well-packaged and fresh, with soft, green hay on top and a clean scent that small animals love. The way the bag is packed makes it look very full, so I feel like I am definitely get what I am paying for. The top layer of the bag usually has long, soft pieces that are perfect for feeding. As you get further into the bag, you may notice more small, broken pieces and tougher strands. There's also a fair amount of hay dust, especially near the bottom, which can be irritating if you have a sensitive nose — I tend to sneeze a lot when scooping it out. Still, the overall quality and portion size make this hay a reliable choice. It lasts a long time depending on how much you feed, and the price is very fair for how much you get. I would definitely buy it again — it’s a great staple for any small pet diet, just be aware of the dust if you’re sensitive.

Nice green chopped up Timothy Hay
I was pleased with this Timothy Hay purchase. First thing I always do is look for expiration dates on any edible product whether it’s for the family or our pets. Doesn’t expire until September 2027. Looks like it’s made in Canada! Nothing wrong with supporting our neighbors! We do not have a pet rabbit, but we have a wild rabbit that lives under our deck/porch and shed. We are having a huge snowstorm that is going to leave about a foot of snow or more. So I decided to buy this Timothy hay because I know it will be hard for our wild rabbit that lives in our yard to be able to get out and get food until the snow melts. Temperature is near 0° at night time so I don’t think the snow is gonna melt for quite a few days. Happy to help out our wildlife if we can. It seemed like the most reasonable thing to do. I did not wanna leave out vegetables or anything to attract other animals. hopefully this hay was a good choice. Price was very reasonable.

I will buy it again
Overall, this is a great-quality hay that my guinea pigs really enjoy. Most batches are fresh, fragrant, and well-balanced, which is why I’m giving it five stars. However, the quality isn’t completely consistent, as some batches contain more thick stems than others. Even so, it’s still one of the better hay options available and I continue to repurchase it.

My Rabbits Absolutely Love It!
I’ve been buying hay for my rabbits for years, and this Kaytee All Natural Timothy Hay (12 lb bag) is by far one of their favorites. The moment I open the bag, my bunnies come running — they absolutely love it! Here’s what I like: Freshness: The hay smells fresh and looks green, not dry or dusty like some other brands I’ve tried. Quality strands: Long, leafy pieces with a nice texture. There are minimal crushed or powdery bits at the bottom. Great quantity: The 12-pound size is perfect for someone with multiple rabbits — it lasts a good while and is excellent value for the price. Happy, healthy bunnies: I’ve noticed they eat more of this hay compared to other brands, and their digestion has been great. Of course, every bag may vary slightly (as hay is a natural product), but overall I’ve had a consistently good experience with Kaytee. It’s become a staple in my rabbits’ diet, and I’ll definitely continue buying it. Highly recommend for rabbit and guinea pig owners who want a reliable, fresh hay their pets will actually enjoy!

A bit dusty, but good for your small furbabies
Very good product for small animals, hay is very important part of a diet especially for piggies (guinea.pigs) very affordable. Hay is always fresh. Would be a bit easier to get out of package if it was in flakes. And a bit less dusty.

Bunny approved 👌🏼
My bunny really likes to eat this Hay. The bag that it comes in is good quality and keeps the Hay contained. I have it set up to be sent every couple of months. One bag lasts a long time because it is compressed in the bag.

Makes for a happy bunny!
So I've been buying this product for a while now.. every few weeks I order 2 or 3 giant 96oz bags, for maybe 2 yrs now. I've never had an issue before, but felt obligated to inform others with my most recent experience. We have a bunny who we love dearly. And we want what's best for him. I used to think this brand satisfied that, but I'm starting to 2nd guess myself. With this last bag of Kaytee hay.. towards the bottom of the bag I found what looks like "fake hay". Which is disturbing because we feed this to our little guy. I know this may sound ridiculous but whatever it is.. it is not actual hay. It looks snd feels like hay-colored easter grass. It's reflective in the light, and feels like plastic shreds. I'm now asking myself how many times has this has happened and I just didn't notice. (Hopefully never!) I fear making this purchase again. I'm posting a picture below, but again it is hay-colored...sort of... so it might look normal to you in the pic, but it most certainly is not hay. In the pic there is a pile of actual hay you can compare it to. I'm sorry to write this review as I've been a loyal customer since our first purchase. Hopefully this was just a one time error, and the company will look into it. I'd hate to see "somebunny" get hurt. Original Review:: So I see a bunch of negative reviews with this KATEE hay. I don't know what other people are getting, but we are happy repeat buyers. We are fortunate enough to have an adorable little bunny in our home. His name is Gotham. We want the best for him, like most people do for their pets. This is the brand Gotham's vet said he uses for his rabbits. This one meets all nutritional needs (as far as hay goes.. remember they need dark leafy greens too!,) and it stays fresh even when this huge 96oz bag is nearing the end. It takes Gotham about a month to eat one bag. It seems like a lot to me but he's healthy and happy. We've tried other kinds of hay in the past, here and there, but this is the brand we started with.. even as a new little bunny. And its definitely his favorite. He will intentionally hop through me pouring the hay so that he gets showered in it. Though messy, it is quite adorable! And then he's busy for hours chomping away. With other kinds he'll get excited at first, nibbles a bit and leaves. On another note I'll never buy a 3lb bag for 12 bucks in store ever again! That's ludicrous in comparison to the prices here. And it is always delivered quickly! i. A+ for price, shipping and product. I think it's a great deal!
