Why pay more
2024 SG. They work! These do not come with guide pin and safety clip like H-D’s do but a 3rd of the price. You decide if you need new pins and safety clips. You can purchase the pin and clip (sold together, 1each per package) separately at H-D. Still saving money buying them here.

Brake or Break
Packaging (NOT AMAZON) is really not as relevant as if it were crystal or electronics. But in this case not having proper packaging from the manufacturer can cause avoidable damage to the product. Such as bending of the back plate or removal/chipping of the pad itself. In this case, the brakes were contained in a fairly rigged container which was in a semi high mil bag. The ;high-strength steel back plate of the brake seems to be coated with a copper (color) like material, maybe to dissipate the heat? Packaging states 600 degrees celsius or 1112 degrees fahrenheit but site states heat resistant up to 650 C [1202 F] and withstanding up to 850 C [1562 F]. 600 degrees celsius is not a normal operating temperature of brakes. Light street use would be safe to approximate ~200 degrees celsius [392 F] but there are many factors that come into play for breaks. So these being rated at 600 is well above light duty, but having a Friction Coefficient of 0.52 is at higher performance. OEM is around ~0.3 to ~0.4, so these may very well run at higher temperatures. With these specs the value is there. Will need a little extra braking when she comes on the high side of 400 kgs [900 lbs]
