An excellent whisky. Lots of flavour and just rolls around the tongue. Really enjoyed sipping/glugging this one

My current favourite Single Malt. Not as flashy or well known as some of it local island brethren, but has a complex and balanced layering of flavours with the smokiness. It's not the absolute height of some of the other smoke monsters, but there is still plenty of it inside a smooth drinkable whisky. You'll rarely find it for less than £50, so it's not for everyday, but worth trying if you can get your hands on a deal (best I've seen on here is £39) or hinting as a lovely birthday/Christmas present.

I gifted the Caol Ila 12 Year Old whisky, and it was an absolute hit! The recipient was thrilled, and after tasting it myself, I can see why. This whisky has a distinct smokiness that’s characteristic of Islay, balanced perfectly with fresh and sweet fruity notes. It’s smooth-bodied and makes for a fantastic sipping experience. The combination of flavors is well-rounded and truly enjoyable. Whether you’re a seasoned whisky drinker or just starting to explore the world of single malts, this one is a must-try. I can’t recommend it enough!

I am starting to enjoy the peated side of whisky drinking whilst also enjoying unpeated single malts. This 12 year Caol Ila is 43% ABV and is a lovely golden coloured liquid. The box and bottle are both very attractive. My first impression of the nose was mild smokiness with hints of fruit and nuts and a light spice. The taste is smooth and creamy, light bodied and warming. Very drinkable and I would recommend this for anyone new to peated whisky. It still amazes me how varied whisky can be and obviously everybody has different tastes but I haven't yet come across a bottle that I did not enjoy.

Smokey whisky more than peaty but carries a light char to it. Very pleasant whisky but for me, I'd take Lagavulin 16 every day of the week which is similar to this but more full on

I tried this after it was recommended. I usually like Speyside and Highland whiskies, although I have tried Laphroaig and Lagavullin before. It has a lasting smokiness that is really quite pleasant, but it is a balanced flavour and very smooth. I am glad I tried it.

Middle-aged, whisky fan here. Have to admit my preference is more on the Islay side (not exclusively so). This stuff is just liquid gold. Perfectly balanced (yes, really), smooth and just, well, brilliant. Buy it, savour it, enjoy it. Trouble is I'm prone to a healthy double and the bottle is going down faster than I'd like at this price but worth every penny :-)

Preis-Leistung: Für rund 36–45 € (je nach Anbieter) bekommt man hier einen hochwertigen Single Malt mit Charakter. Besonders empfehlenswert ist das Geschenkset mit Gläsern – perfekt für Whisky-Liebhaber oder als stilvolles Präsent. Fazit: Ein rundum gelungener Islay-Whisky, der sowohl Kenner als auch Neulinge begeistert. Ich würde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen!

que dire sur cette bouteille? Partie trop vite. Plus sérieusement j’ai adoré ce whisky. J’ai trouvé la tourbe que je recherchais. J’ai trouvé le plaisir d’un grand whisky écossais. Cela m’a rappelé mon voyage à Édimbourg et Glasgow. Le goût de la tourbe m’a plu, mais n’a pas été trop fort pour les non-amateurs
