Premium build quality with a sharp, smooth 13.4” FHD+ 120Hz display. Performance is fast and responsive thanks to the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. The keyboard is comfortable for daily use, battery life is solid, and overall it feels well-optimised for productivity, multitasking, and everyday professional use.

Its a very good laptop
Decent Laptop and I am happy overall. I like The premium feel. Windows 11 with easy 'hello' sign in Speedy boot up screen quality CoPilot - love it and the keyboard button Good in many respects - it just works well and easy to set up Dislikes Easy to hit caps lock on the keyboard Only USB C ports is a minor irritation but not a deal breaker

Build quality is not reflective of the price
I know my review may seem petty at first, but dell markets their xps line as a premium laptop. I must say i haven't been impressed with it so far, firstly the build quality is sub par compared to the likes of apples MacBook. with my laptops screen not closing seamlessly and one the the screws on the bottom of my laptop being rounded; but most importantly the base casing of the laptop appears to be bulging where the battery normally is, making me believe the battery is already expanding not even a month of use. To charge prices of over £1000 for a laptop with the same build quality of a budget laptop is egregious. Secondly the performance of the laptop isn't worth the price either, everytime i open my laptop it takes ages to boot up even if i haven't shut it down, the load time of opening apps and webpages is also slow. I am appalled as someone who came from a late 2015 MacBook pro i can confidently say the dells xps 13 was not the upgrade i wanted, with a worse build quality and performance comparable to my old MacBook the dell xps line is not worth your money.

Speedy machine, really impressed
Quality system, decent spec and upgradeable, which is ideal. Took a lot of time to do all the initial updates, but runs like a dream and the display is gorgeous. Love the usb-c connectivity options. Battery seems to last quite a while too, even when running a Teams meeting and multiple browser windows + tabs. Lovely sleek design, nice size for portability, and doesn't weigh a lot. Great machine all round, really impressed so far.

Known problem makes the laptop unusable
I returned my order as the illuminated function keys would not work. I spent two hours with Dell online support (the person took remote control of the laptop and tried all sorts of things without success) and I also tried a number of things recommended by various user forums. It seems to be a common problem with the XPS 13 model. Amazon should withdraw the product from sale until this known problem is fixed. Keyboard doesn’t feel very substantial either.

Good all rounder but better models less on price for quality gaming
This laptop sits at the intersection of premium design and high performance, with a focus on creative workflows, multitasking, and GPU-accelerated workloads — but user feedback and professional reviews highlight a blend of strengths and weaknesses that explain mixed average ratings. ⸻ ✅ Strengths Display & Design • Stunning 4K OLED touchscreen with vibrant colors and 120 Hz refresh rate — ideal for creative work (video/photo editing, design). • Premium build quality with an aluminum chassis and sleek aesthetics. Performance • Capable configuration with RTX 5070 GPU and Core Ultra CPU handles demanding tasks and content creation. • Runs AI and GPU workloads smoothly (creative apps, some gaming). Thermals & Noise • Many users report cool-running and quiet operation under daily use. Connectivity • Modern Thunderbolt 4/5 and Wi-Fi 7 support. ⸻ ❌ Weaknesses / Common Complaints Battery Life • Battery life tends to be below expectations for a premium laptop (often ~6-9 hr real use). Port Selection • Limited physical ports — only USB-C + headphone jack — may frustrate users who want traditional USB-A or HDMI. Keyboard & Trackpad • Some reviewers find the keyboard/zero-border touchpad layout difficult or unintuitive. Thermal Limits on GPU • There’s community concern that the RTX 5070 is power-limited (~45 W), reducing its expected performance relative to full-power RTX 5070 units in other laptops. Software & Optimization • Reports of driver / optimization issues and mixed long-term reliability feedback. ⸻ 🧠 Who This Laptop Is Best For Good fit for: • Creative professionals needing a high-quality OLED display. • Users doing multitasking, CAD, video editing, or GPU-assisted productivity. • People who value build quality and premium materials. Less ideal for: • Hardcore gamers seeking full RTX performance. • Users who need extensive ports or longest battery life. • People sensitive to trackpad/keyboard design quirks. ⸻ 📌 Overall Verdict The Dell 16 Premium DA16250 delivers excellent visuals and strong performance for creative content and productivity, with a premium look and feel. However, trade-offs in battery life, ports, and GPU thermal limits help explain why some reviewers rate it lower than flagship competitors. This balanced profile aligns with its Amazon rating (~3.4 / 5) driven by mixed user expectations vs. high-end ambitions.
