This one looks the same as the one we got from the optometrist but doesn't work as well for some reason. It's larger / wider and the suction is not as effective.

I have been wearing gas permeable hard contacts for 31 years; I used to be able to take them off easily using the traditional "pull-blink" method, I did not even need to look at myself at a mirror, I was able to do it in any situation at the first attempt. Three years ago I started having difficulties taking my right one off; I pulled and blinked, but the contact did not popped out as usual, and I had to repeat and repeat until it finally came out. This difficulty has been gradually increasing, I don't know why (skin less tight with age?), and sometimes I had to spend 20 minutes until I finally made the contact to pop. I started to use less and less my contacts, since I was scared of not been able to pull them off at night. One day last week I was completely unable to pop my right one off; after more than one hour trying, I decided to go to my optician (luckily this happened in the afternoon when the store was still open). The optician used one of these removers, and did it in just one second. It was the first time I saw these, so I decided to buy them at Amazon. These removers have changed my life, I am able now to pull my contacts off at the first attempt, and I am not scared anymore of wearing them. They are very simple to use, I just put a drop of solution in the suction cup, approach it to my eye, and immediately the contact gets attached to it. I wish my optician had told me about these removers before, the first time I told him I was having difficulties taking my contacts off...

I started wearing scleral lenses this year and the plunger that I received from the doctor was not the best. I love the suction on this one. Normally it takes several tries to get the old one to stick. Not with this one! I place it on the lens and it sticks right away. I’m able to then pull it out without fear that it’s going to drop off. To get the plunger to release all you do is pinch it at the base and that’s it! Definitely will purchase again.
