I am tickled pink with this slicer!! I got it as a Christmas gift. Previously, I always struggled with slicing homemade bread and could never get even slices, and absolutely never consistent slices across the loaf. This changed everything!! The slices are uniform. The serrated blade does a great job. The handle is easy to turn, with very little effort. I do have to pause sometimes to move the slice out of the handle's way, but that's no big deal. I like that you can easily adjust the slice thickness. Others commented that the control knob didn't lock enough. I thought so too until I saw the little lock nut underneath. After tightening that with the included tool, out didn't move at all. Love! Love! Love!

It cuts thru the crusty sourdough bread that I was never able to cut with a knife. I am so glad I ordered it because I am able to cut different size slices of bread with ease. It is good quality. Easy to clean. It has good suction cups underneath that keeps it in place and it doesn't move while cutting. It is a decent size and it's not heavy at all.

This thing works like a dream, giving perfect slices more or less in seconds. I look forward to my next bake just for the fun of slicing!

*Review updated 8/28/25 I purchased this bread slicer to slice homemade sourdough bread. It is almost perfect but has one huge flaw. The pros: Easy to set bread thickness by turning the dial. Easy to crank handle to turn blade. Blade sharp enough to cut tough bread. Makes clean cuts. Sliced a loaf of bread very quickly. Feet suctioned sturdily to tile countertop. Easy to clean blade by holding damp rag against blade and turning crank. *The con: This problem knocked the bread slicer from 5 stars to 3 stars. The mechanism that sets the width of the slice is not tight enough. It opens easily as you are pushing the bread forward, which makes the width of the slice gradually increase (and the knob that sets the width turn). The slight pressure of the bread against the guide pushes toward the right making the width guide open. Since you are cranking with the right hand and pushing the loaf with the left hand there is no way to hold the knob in place or to keep the width from widening. *Review update: after a couple uses the issue has resolved itself. The slicer no longer opens as I am slicing the bread. I am updating my review to 5 stars. I love the uniform slices and ease of use when slicing my home made bread. I slice a loaf in about a minute.

I use it on my home made bread. Slices easily and the blade is not like a razor so it's fairly safe, plus you can move the adjustable guide in front of the blade for added protection. When slicing, the sliced part peels away as it goes through the blade and you have to be careful not to hit the slice with the handle. The suction cups hold the unit securely to the countertop. Overall, a simple, lightweight, practical tool.

Up your bread game! This takes your bread from beginning to pro in terms of presentation! Not only does it have loads of different sizes for slicing but it is super easy to clean and has good suction to keep it in place. The only thing I wish it had is a slice guide on the crank side to keep the cut slice from falling into the crank area. The quality is good and it’s a great value for the price. This is one of my favorite purchases of the year!

This cuts my sourdough bread with ease. I usually struggle with cutting the bottom. That's the hardest part to cut. Typically I have to flip it all over the place to cut through it and it gets crumbs everywhere. This bread cutter does it so quickly and way less of a mess

I have been looking at bread slicers since I started baking my own bread about a year ago. I value my fingers more than my wife does as she was not on board for a long time. When I came across this slicer and read the reviews I was pretty sure this was the one. I don't think I have ever seen a more positive review in all the years I been using Amazon and this bread slicer actually performs better than I expected base on the reviews. It is a high quality, well designed, and quite versatile as well. I did a quick test on hard salami and was quite amazed at how well it performed with very thin slices which is how I like my Italian Genoa salami. The size is perfect for a kitchen counter and blends in well not too big! My wife's concern. I really don't think the design could improved for better safety. When not in use you can move the carriage in a simple turn to close access to the cutting blade. Cost wise it is not cheap but you do get what you pay for and I could not be more impressed or satisfied!

I make a lot of bread, and I found myself letting loaves go stale on the counter because I was dreading slicing them. I've tried both freehand slicing, and the popular bamboo slicing guides you'll find on amazon. I don't like the bamboo one at all. It splinters, the wood gets cut up with every slice (not just the bottom but the actual slats/guides too), it's slow and imprecise, it slides around all over the place. It's also a paint to wash with numerous parts, and just all around an unpleasant experience. This....I'm assuming this is a knock-off of the zassenhaus, which is imo way overpriced. Like even $200 imo is a lot for what it is imo, but it's a lot better than $400! I'm glad I decided to try one though, and I think if you bake enough bread (or even just buy your bread as whole loaves) that this is an incredibly worthwhile investment! I should have bought one ages ago! I love how fast and easy it is to slice, how easy it is to select the size of your slices, how precise it is, how fast and easy it is to clean, and imo how safe it is compared to an electric slicer! Obviously you can still cut yourself with this, but at least with a manual slicer if you do start cutting yourself, it'll happen slowly and you can stop before it goes too deep or you just lose a piece of your finger entirely! This produces such nice, perfect slices! It's actually rather fun to use! If you can swing the price, and you'll get good use of it, absolutely, seriously, just buy it!

I was rather nervous about buying this. I have used an electric bread slicer for years but they are heavy, clumsy to use and difficult to store. However this cutter is proving very good. It is well made and seems sturdy. The blade really is sharp, nevertheless a spare may have been handy. The only drawbacks are that the base is rather small to mount even say an average sized Sourdough loaf on but I am managing. Plus I really do not find the suckers on the base that useful. They stick to anything which means it can stick to where you move it to momentarily or where you store it. I may take the suckers off which looks easy enough to do. Nevertheless I am pleased with this gadget so far.

This puppy is as close to the European brand manual bread slicer for a fraction of the cost. I place it down on my granite countertop and don’t need to push the slicer down to engage the suction cups. It automatically does that and will not budge. The blade is sharp and cuts my sourdough loaf with ease. Adjusting the slice thickness is a breeze. It’s super easy to clean and operate. It also came in a day earlier than expected. If you are thinking about getting a manual bread sliced, do not hesitate to spend the money for this, I highly recommend this product if you do not want to splurge for the more expensive brand

Slices are easy and quick. Finally say goodbye to thick and uneven slices, just takes a few minutes to get bakery slices which are great for toasting and sandwiches.
