We really like these lights a lot. The color is very warming and we love the fact there’s no remote control to change batteries in all the time. Plug this one in when you want the lights on and unplug it when you don’t.

For a small apartment porch these are perfect. Did not use the hangers, shaped the rope around the flowerpots and door lintel along the floor and outlined the railing. Gives a nice subtle light and the dimmer is great. The remote allows me to operate lights (opening the door) without having to go outside and there's a color for every mood. The rope is nice and flexible, I used a few zip ties to mount it to a railing. Very pleased . Update: all of a sudden sections of blue lights don't work. One section came back on, all the other LEDs work but without blue the colors are messed up, too.

I bought 4 of the 5m/16.4ft strands to encircle my round pool. I was replacing a single 20m strand of a similar type that I'd bought about about five years ago. Compared to the old, I'm impressed with the connector style at the end of these ropes. Each is fitted with a notch so you can not plug them into each other (or to the power/controller brick) the wrong way around. The connector bodies are quite deep enough to be able to screw nice and tightly. I wouldn't count on submersing them consistently, but I think they'll be able to withstand more than enough splashing. You get a plastic twist-in terminator plug with each strand. The manufacturer's recommendation is a maximum of four strands chained together. I didn't bust out my meter to measure current and resistance at the start vs the end of the line. But it all seems to work perfectly well so far. One upswing is that I now have three extra sets of control boxes, termination-plugs, and remote controls in case the any of those components decides to go sideways. The bright/dim function has five minor steps, and isn't incredibly useful, but it works. The color palette on the remote actually does represent the colors that the LEDs can output. This sounds silly, but is surprisingly important. My land strand's remote had an outsized palette, giving the buyer the impression that many more colors or blends might be displayed, but that was a trick - all of those extra buttons just duplicated the primary colors, or else didn't work at all. I'd say the only advantage my old unit had was that its control box had a protruding "dongle" from which the IR sensor hung. This product does not have that - the IR receiver is mounted in the box itself. So you need to take care that the box's proper face is outwards, however you hang or mount it. Otherwise the remote controller will not see it. I hope these lights last a decent long time. Four stars for now.

These LEDS are much brighter than the original rope lights! They look great!

I had to get a replacement because the first one I received was not turning on once it was installed. Now after about a month or less that they have been up they have stopped working I had them on and when I was going to turn them “ off” I realized they weren’t on anymore so I tried disconnecting from power outlet and connecting back but nothing helped . They do look great but it would have been nice to have it last longer . *** update The seller has sent me a new replacement and it’s working great. The rope lights are very bright you can change speed brightness and it has a few more options. Overall it was a good purchase besides the other incidents but the seller was very helpful and polite and helped me out through the process and answered every one of my questions and I am very satisfied with the service and now with my lights. We've had seasonal lights hanging from the eaves of our home for many years, but the traditional mini lights always seemed to fail after some years. We decided to try the LED light system and found the multi-color LED rope lights. The plan was for the lights to serve as 'holiday' lights (green, red, orange, etc.) for those occasions but also as a form of security lighting for the front of the house during the rest of the year (white lights). I've installed them as indirect lighting under the eaves and it creates a nice affect. I have them set on a dawn/dusk light sensor timer and they work great. I appreciate the lights even have some dimming capacity. I've connected four sets together (max recommended) and it serves our needs (~60ft). I would like to note that when I initially installed the four lengths together I found only the first two worked correctly and was afraid the lighting controller could only handle/power two lengths. I contacted customer service (via email) with the issue and they were very helpful with troubleshooting the problem. It took some back and forth emails, but it turned out the third length had a faulty connector. They quickly sent a replacement. We've enjoyed the multi-light options for the winter holiday and have even changed the colors on the occasions to show support for our sport teams ... kinda fun.
