Seb 790141 Gasket for pressure cooker 4.5/6 L diam.220 mm, Black

This seems to be a classic 'bait and switch'. I thought it was expensive enough, but I bought it because I needed it. Amazon listing showed the gasket in a factory package from SEB/Tefal. The gasket I received came in a clear plastic bag with no markings at all and no evidence that it was a genuine SEB/Tefal product. Seemed suspicious when the packaging was generic. Then it seemed further suspicious since the gaskets I'd bought in France that are not glued at the ends. I installed it, trusting that I hadn't been deceived, like I've done many times before, and it leaked like a sieve. Stopped the cooking process and removed it and reinstalled it. No change. Still leaked and never built enough pressure to make the "Casserole Valve" 'jiggle' and my meal was burned. In fact, when I tightened the cover, it stopped tightening, apparently reaching the limit, so I couldn't tighten the lid further. What a disappointment for such an expensive item! Maybe it works for other pressure cookers, but sure didn't work for mine!
