I love this spice, it is a warm curry flavor that livens up the dish. You don't need a ton either but I have started using it in most of my soups. It gives a nice spice to it without being overpowering. It is a little spicy to my taste buds but no one in my family (read: picky children who don't like spicy) have never complained and I like a little heat. Great in butternut squash soup! Try it: coconut oil, 1 onion, 1/2 whole large butternut (maybe 1.5-2 lbs.) 4-8 oz carrots, 4-6 stalks celery, this spice to taste, 2 T salt and any other spices to taste (I like cinnamon and ginger too). Sautee the veggies and spices before adding water (just enough to cover) easy boil until soft and use an immersion blender or blender. Enjoy!

It’s my favourite of all the different “curry powders” ( masalas ) I have tried. The quality is consistent and the multi layered flavours are truly wonderful. Ive been eating curry since I was a kid (decades ago and my first memory of it was my great grandmother cooking “curry “whose husband was stationed in India under Churchill !!) and this is impressive. I try to keep it in stock in my cupboard.

This multi-functioning spice is very versatile and easy to use with any type of dish. The texture is fresh smooth and tasty. Heat and spice level is mild. I even made tea with it! I put some on my sweet potato and egg breakfast with some pickled onion and it was absolutely delicious. The lentil dish I prepared tasted like it was from a restaurant. Great value and worth buying. I love this blend. You won’t be disappointed!

I love the flavor and aroma of this curry. The powder was obviously very fresh. Tried lots of other curry powders before and they pale in comparison. It’s not super spicy, but has some decent background heat. You might start to notice it only if you apply quite a lot of it. The salt that’s in there adds a little extra flavor, but it isn’t enough to really affect how much salt I’d add to whatever I’m cooking. It’s become my favorite curry and I’m using it on practically everything I eat. For those who are very sensitive to salt or have to be very careful of their salt intake, this company also sells a salt free version of their curry; I haven’t tried it, but it’s available through Starwest Botanicals’ website.

High quality with an ok taste

This curry powder is super fresh, smells great and it’s flavorful. We go through a lot of curry powder in my household, our first time trying this brand. Made a batch of lentil curry and it turned out more flavorful than usual.

The Frontier 1 pound curry I usually buy was suddenly priced really high—double the price of Starwest—so I decided to give Starwest a spin around the block. And I'm glad I did! The Frontier curry was good but on the bland side, requiring lots of cayenne, salt and other spices to make it tasty. Starwest is complete and tasty as shipped! Besides tasting great, it smells wonderful with a distinct aroma of cloves and nutmeg not apparent in most other curry mixes. I consider it mild to medium spicy as cayenne is obviously used in the mix, albeit I often add a wee bit more! Great taste and value. Will buy again.

Love all the Healthy Ingredients in this Organic Curry. In my rice cooker I add Two Tablespoons of Curry to my Two Cups of rinsed & drained Organic Brown Basmati Rice with 4 Cups Filtered Water. Top it off with One Teaspoon Kosher Salt and I dribble some Avocado Oil across the top of rice & water. Turn on the automatic rice cooker, ( I use the white rice button on my cooker ), and wait for the AROMA 😊 Fluff Up Rice when completely cooked, before serving. With leftovers, Organic Chicken Stock can be poured on Curry Rice to steam reheat and make rice softer to your taste. Delicious!

It is the best curry powder I’ve ever used and I’ve been making curries for decades. Flavourful with the taste of the individual spices coming through, fresh really very good.
