Classic Line Candy/Deep Fry Thermometer

Good product

We bought this to make churros and needed to make sure the oil was at proper temperature. This has a nice clamp on the side which is adjustable so you can make it the right length for your pot. Just make sure you read the directions on the package as it explains that you don't want the tip of the thermometer touching the bottom of the plan. We'll use it for other items now that we have it.

My mom had her thermometer for YEARS. I can remember her using it when she made our holiday candy, and fried foods. Somehow, when we went to use it this year the bottom was cracket, thank goodess I found this one on Amazon.

Excellent sturdy thermometer

Bought this to use for my fudge and it works rather well. The only thing I had problems with waz seeing the temperature and also the clip wasn't very tight so it kept moving around the pot

does the job nicely made bought thermometer as part of multiple wedding presents for the new cook because it is for candy as well as deep fry it serves many purposes for instance you need this for merengue frosting, deep frying chicken and making candy. the temperature needs to be exact for so many recipes so this thermometer takes the guess work out and helps you to be successful ibaker or cook in the kitchen I have had mine for years. they last a long time.

Worthless if making candy. The grips for the pot attachment covers the area of the thermometer that you need to see for soft ball stage. It also fogs over, and you can't see the temperature anyway.

Of all of the sophisticated candy-deep fat thermometers out there, I still prefer this one. It is easy to read and very responsive. I have bought others, looking for one that has a guard so that the glass thermometer is not as vulnerable. Unfortunately, the guard seems to act as a heat shield and makes those units less responsive and you're likely to overheat whatever you're making. This thermometer is right on the money. It comes with a clip. Make sure you position the bottom of the thermometer so it is about a half inch from the bottom of the pan for good accuracy.

Great candy thermometer for the price. I like the protective shield, which allows you to keep it in a drawer without fear of breaking it.
