Very good
Over the years we have tried countless cat litters and all of them have had pros and cons. Often the higher priced ones aren't always worth it and this has become even more the case in the recent past 5 years or so. Previously premium brands of clumping cat litters now track like crazy all over the place when they used to be good. There is little explanation as to why the quality of premium (priced but not quality) clumping cat litters have gone so bad. So I did a little research what makes a wood pellet or wood ground sawdust cat litter clump compared to the non clump equivalents. The only main difference is that the clumping cat litters have a plant based additive such as starch to bind the cat litter together when it gets wet. Not sure the expensive clumping wood based cat litters are priced fairly when this is considered. Prices keep increasing like crazy with inflation but cat litters have been increasing in price beyond what would be expected and years before 2020 even. I was always struggling to find a reasonably priced cat litter and any non owner of cats do think cat owners are mad for paying these high prices for cat litters. Every new brand got expensive as soon as they became popular. Less expensive ones were terrible for moisture retention and management and odour elimination. Thought I would give this a try. I filled up the whole cat litter tray with one 12 litre bag. We have a very large cat litter tray for large size Ragdoll and Maine Coone cats. This means we normally only last up to 5 weeks on a good clumping cat litter such as Greenwoods, it does track badly though so we have been looking for an alternative for a long time. The Catolet (12 litre bag) will last our 4 cats up to 2 weeks before it needs changing. The moisture retention is good considering this isn't clumping and has to try out without removing clumps. The odour elimination seems great and all our cats seem happy with it. It is like other pellet cat litters only lighter in weight and slightly fluffy on the edges. I am very surprised at how good it is at odour elimination. Urine doesn't seem to smell at all but there can be a slight newspaper smell, sort of, which isn't bad. We have used newspaper based cat litters before and they were no way near as good as this one is. If you are happy with a non clumping cat litter that needs emptying more regularly then this is great. It will last 1 to 2 weeks easy for up to 4 large house cats. The pop smells are still there as to be expected with most cat litters but we recommend prompt removal of that where possible. The urine smell isn't a concern at all though. Some cat owners use portable stick on ioniser that sticks on the inside of the cat litter to eliminate odours which uses a sensor to turn on after the cat enters or leaves the box. We may try that in the future but our cats refuse to use a cat flap on the box because they were never trained to use one with their breeder or mum cat. 8/10 for quality and odour reduction and 10/10 for price but if we can get it slightly cheaper then that would be great because it doesn't last as long as a clumping cat litter, though it is still cheaper.

Best Cat Litter Around!
This cat litter is great, as one of my cats has asthma I didn’t want anything too dusty and this isn’t dusty at all. Very absorbent. Great value for money. I have been using it for just over a year and think it’s the best cat litter around.

controls smell, minimal tracking, hard to see where soiled so a lot of waste
pros: Controls odour well, no dust, minimal tracking due to weight of pellet compared to fine litters. con: near impossible to see where she's weed on it, after she has dug around, it mixes up soiled litter, plus its too large to be filtered through a scooper. so u end up scooping half the tray out to clear all the soiled litter which is mixed with perfectly good clean litter. I suspect a clumping litter would mitigate this and therefore have a lot less wastage. a 12L bag only lasts me a week.

Great Product
Item is great- have used it for years. Can't fathom why it is now so expensive on Anazon. It's £5.99 at B&M and £7.99 at my local pet store. I paid £6.75 in 2023 on Amazon. It is now over £9! Very convenient but not very competitive.

The only one for my kitty
The gravel type cat litter contains silica, which is poisonous to both animals and humans, the first is bad for cats as they scratch so you should never use that type but my cat finds the wooden pellets to be too big and hard. The corn type one is better for her feet but a very dangerous bacteria can grow between the corn and the urine and that he fatal. Aside from all that being reasons to not use the others, I have found that this brand is best, I change her toilet twice a week using one bag a week but that's her preference because she is a funny kitty and also has a very big litter tray with a hood on. It's easy to use, easy to clean, retains the urine well not necessarily clumping but she can easily find it next time. The smell has never got bad but it is changed regularly and she can bury what she needs to when she is finished. My cat wouldn't be able to survive without it so I order it on subscription and receive a good discount with the rest of my orders making it even better value for money.

The worst ever
I thought ok let’s see what I can do to be more eco friendly. The cost for recycled newspapers etc is absurd. They all clump together when pouring. Not the first time but the 2nd. Actually after doing her litter we found or at least she did some jumping insect. I can only imagine came from that stuff as I was sorting it out my house is neat and she’s an indoor cat. I also have carpeted stairs the minute I open my door & it would have a hard job getting from down there. She ripped the liner as I have a litter tray I got from someplace where you can bid she has one way in and jumps right out so no litter is on your floor. It’d great and has a tray you pull out at a reasonable price. They have them here to & would have bought from here had I not got my liners from there. She’s a new cat to me. We are trying to bond after the lady gave her to me once she had a baby. Well I never had granules to pick up due to the holes when she jumps out of her tray. I’ve kept the hooded normal one I got with her for when she gets older & can’t jump but I was picking up paper more than ever this should only cost a few quid. For the price and the fact we found an insect jumping (indoor cat as said before so no fleas) this was a few mm bigger than a flea. It jumped like one. I got her out of the kitchen and stamped on it. Obviously is in a pile on the floor of some company who keep it in a warehouse type of setting. I hate killing insects but they are not an invited guest. They live outside. Where they are meant to. You’re literally paying for paper you could shred and twist yourself. I recycle I wash everything out but just cos it say it’s eco friendly. Your not hurting the planet buying the granule type one since it once came from the earth before it was litter (I’m assuming). This product after some thought isn’t eco at all after giving the waste centre at our council. You cant put it In any bin but the normal, save your money. The one I use is just like the branded one but half the price. That has a nice smell to it. Lasts a week if you don’t mind scooping poo out. This one recommends the same as well. She was even ashamed that she moved the paper to the side to pee on ripped the liner to do so. So I use to wash out the tray. The 1st use was fine. I guess the 2nd time round thsts when I found it hard to come out the bag, she was sad, she found more jumping things that I couldn’t detect. So now I have to buy flea solution. Thanks very much. I hardly write reviews but starting to, to help people and the economy. I’ve never written one this much hate. Had they taken care it wouldn’t be so bad. It also doesn’t last that long. The usual brand is small in size I get two uses out of it. Same with this one. There is about 4 inches left I was going to use with her normal litter deffo not now. It’s in the bin. The recycling one now since it is just paper and will go through a process.
