Glow of the Everflame: The second book in an irresistibly epic and angsty romantasy series

I’m so glad I took the plunge (and braved the dent in my wallet) to buy this series on Amazon. Living in the Philippines, where these books aren’t available in local bookstores, it was worth every penny (or peso, in my case). 💸The story follows Diem, our strong-willed FMC, who embarks on a journey to find her mother. Along the way, she stumbles upon life-changing secrets about herself and the world she thought she knew. With a brewing war between rebels and the Descended (the ruling nobles), Diem faces impossible choices—not just in battle but also in love. Does she follow her heart back to her childhood sweetheart or fall for the mysterious, brooding prince?💭 My thoughts:This series DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It’s worth every ounce of hype and then some! The author’s writing will pull you into the story and make you feel like you’re living right there with them. The characters are brilliantly crafted, the banter is witty and snarky (I was giggling constantly!), and the found family dynamic? I’d love to have them in my life!📖 Spark of the Everflame:Unputdownable from start to finish. I couldn’t stop reading because every chapter left me craving more. And the ending? OH. MY. GOD.😱 So glad I bought all three books at once, or I’d have gone crazy waiting!📖 Glow of the Everflame:This is where all the action kicks into high gear. And did I mention it’s a slow-burn romance? It’s the slowest of slooooow burns, but the tension is off the charts! You’ll be begging for more.📖 Heat of the Everflame:Admittedly, this was my least favorite of the three. Diem’s self-doubt really started to get to me, but the story is still a must-read. It deepens the world-building and answers some major questions. Though slower compared to the first two books, it’s absolutely worth it!Now, I’m counting down the days until book 4 drops! 😩 Please, release it already—I need closure! 🙏🏻😭

I couldn’t put this book down from page 1, what a fantastic second book to the series.Diem is by far the best FMC. She’s so funny and witty I am obsessed with her - I think I want to be her. The banter between her and some of the key characters is just PHENOMENAL.I enjoyed the new characters introduced in this second book and the found family trope. The slow burn romance in this series is unmatched. I think the last time I’ve been this giddy is when I was dating my husband 15 years ago 😆Penn’s writing finds the perfect balance of being light and fun while including a high stakes adventure. It’s immensely entertaining from the world building, the character development, the dialogue. If this book was a stage performance I’d be standing up and screaming for an Encore.This series is truly a work of art thus far. I’m saving the date already to binge Heat of the Everflame, especially after that ending. 😱

Ich bin zufällig auf diese Serie gestoßen und habe mir die englischen Versionen gekauft. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit habe ich die ersten beiden Bände verschlungen.Ich bin sofort reingekommen in die Geschichte und hatte auch von Anfang an eine genaue Vorstellung der Charaktere. Die Geschichte ist sehr abwechslungsreich und einfach nur toll geschrieben. Spannend, fesselnd, herzzerreißend, lustig, romantisch, Plot twists die einen nicht aufhören lassen zu lesen, Intrigen, ein wirklich schön ausgearbeiteter Einblick in zwei Welten, die nicht unterschiedlicher sein könnten und eine Protagonistin, die mich sehr an Daenerys Targaryen erinnert, die mit jeder Aufgabe wächst und in sich immer stärker wird ... nicht zu spicy, was mir persönlich sehr gefällt. Ebenfalls finde ich wirklich sehr gut, dass die Romanze zwischen Diem und Luther ein slooooooow burn ist.Also mein Fazit: absolut lesenswert!!!!!

I loved this more than the first one! Absolutely sped through this, I could not put it down. This was absolutely awesome I'm surprised there is not more hype around the series!
