Good weights, decent stand, minor chemical smell.
I was pleasantly surprised by this dumbbell set! There were a few reviews mentioning a chemical smell and missing pieces. I got the 150lb set, it came in two packages and was delivered via prime, promptly and together. I was a little worried initially, the tracking number showed only one package that weighed 50lbs, but both arrived just fine. The chemical smell is there. I think some people are really sensitive to that, I personally didn’t think it was that bad. But I’ve worked in a lot of industrial places and shops. They were a little greasy. I wiped them down with a cleaner and spritzed some febreeze on them. Barely noticeable. They seem good quality wise. The stand is cheap, feels cheap, but it’s effective and was easy to assemble. I haven’t worked out with them yet. Overall, for almost half of what some other sets cost that still want to charge you a hundred on top just to ship, I am thoroughly impressed with the product. Worth the money.

Good weights, great price
I was so excited for these weights to arrive! So much so that the delayed ship date kind of bummed me out, but turns out I didn't need to worry! The weights shipped the same day I ordered them and they arrived two business days later just like any other Prime item. I got to use these weights for the first time today and I am happy with them. My husband is pretty experienced with weights and he also said they were a nice set. The neoprene felt good to use while my hands were getting sweaty - I could maintain a good grip the whole time. These are my first weights, so as I have nothing to compare them to, here's a quick description. The blue and teal weights are actually a darker color than they appear in the photo. The grips and lengths on all the weights do vary depending on the weight - the 3 lb grip is thinner than the 5 and 8 lb grips, and the 3 lb weight is shorter than the 5 and 8 lb weights. The grip swells just a bit in the center. I have small hands - I prefer the grip on the smaller weights but even with the wider 8 lb grip, I'm able to get a good enough grip on it. The weights have a seam on them which I noticed a little during the workout but turning the weight a little made it unnoticeable. And again, I don't have anything to compare it to, so if you do, hopefully the description helps. I will be able to use them for all conceivable workouts, which is the point. I feel like these weights are a really good spread of resistance. I'm a girl, just beginning to do weight resistance so the 3 lb is great for a light weight and the 8 lb is great to challenge me. As for the rack, it was easy to put together by hand and it was really nice that I didn't have to go find a power drill or even a screwdriver to put it together, because it comes with everything you need. I was hoping I'd be able to move the weights around on the stand, but it's a little difficult to do just because there's so much weight on the stand. Which may be my fault for not being able to carry 32 lbs. Last thing, the stand is actually a bit narrow - when the dog came over to inspect the weights, the stand tipped over. I haven't found any dumbbell sets that come with a sturdy stand though, so I'd make a purchase just based on the weights. I was just very excited to find a 32 lb set for such a good price. It was at least $12 cheaper than all the other sets on Amazon, which made the purchase easy. I would recommend these weights.

Not to bad especially for price!
Pros: Easy rack assembly takes 5-10mins Premium weights should last along time Fast delivery Great price point Cons: Weights have a diesel smell so recommend wiping off and leave outside Rack not premium but should be effective and do the job. Did tilt some until I racked with the heavier weights

The weights are great; the stand needs work...
I bought this weight set to use at home for physical therapy excecises after a rotator cuff injury. After reading other reviews about each of the varying weights, I conducted a very unscientific test of weighing myself while holding each weight. In my set, the 3 lb and 8 lb weights each weighed exactly 3 lbs and 8 lbs. The 5 lb weights, however, each weighed 5.4 lbs. Certainly not a major discrepancy and nothing that warrants any complaints from me. They are comfortably solid and fully covered in color-coordinated neoprene coating with no discernible defects. Each weight was individually packaged in bubble wrap, and each set of weights was packaged snugly in their own box. The other complaint I saw in many of the reviews had to do with the plastic stand. Yes, it's true that the stand is plastic and not of the absolute highest quality. All hardware (including a cheap screwdriver) is included. I attempted to assemble the stand as is, but I can understand all the frustration involved with somewhat crooked screw holes and an unstable finished product. My solution was to first glue the plastic dowels to each half of the stand using Gorilla Glue and let it cure for 24 hours and THEN reinforce it with the included screws. I used 2 pieces of cardboard that came in the package and placed one on the bottom and one on the top because I knew some of the glue would leak through the screw holes. Essentially, the stand was lying flat on its side, sandwiched between the pieces of cardboard. I placed several of the weights on top to act as a clamp and keep pressure on the whole thing while the glue cured overnight. After I pulled the cardboard off, I used a pick to remove any excess glue from the screw holes. I tried using the included screwdriver but I quickly gave up on that and used a ratcheting screwdriver instead for more torque and was able to tightly fasten all 6 of the included screws. The assembled stand is now sturdy and stable with no fear of falling apart or toppling over on its own. I tested the movement of the stand while all the weights were on it and it wobbles slightly when you push on it (I mean, it IS plastic after all) but it's definitely sturdy and you'd have to push with some force to actually cause it to topple over. There should be no reason for this stand to be knocked over under normal use WITH ALL THE WEIGHTS in place. If you remove both of the 8 lb weights from the bottom, then yes, the stand could topple when pushed since it's top heavy. That goes for most top heavy items though. However, the stand is certainly stable while removing the weights and replacing them back on the stand. I suppose if you place the stand in the center of the room and are using both of the 8 lb weights at the same time, then it's conceivable that your child/dog/clumsy roommate or whatever could accidentally bump into it and knock it over. But really though? Who's placing their weights somewhere where people or animals are knocking into it? Just use common sense and place it near or against a wall or furniture and not in the path of others. I have mine against a wall and there's really no chance for it to fall over with normal use. Also, there's not an actual carry handle to transport the stand with the weights on it, but the notches at the bottom create handholds and you can CAREFULLY lift the stand straight up and move the entire set as necessary. I do agree that I should not have HAD to take the steps I took to ensure that my stand would be solid and sturdy. We should be able to assemble the stand directly out of the box without having to resort to using glue or struggle with wonky screw holes. But, it is what it is and I was able to use my available resources to make sure the stand was not going to fall apart. Personally, I purchased the set of weights specifically for the actual weights, not for the stand itself. As far as the weights are concerned, they're a great basic set of weights. If I could, I'd probably knock a half-star off for the issue with the stand, but otherwise it's a 5-star deal.

Great value and arrived quickly
Product arrived in 2 separate boxes. Weights had a slight plastic/chemical order. Smell is tolerable. No sticky or oily residue on weights. Looks very well made durable and high quality. Good, comfortable grips

Great quality!!
As others have mentioned, yes there’s a smell. However, it’s of great quality and totally worth letting them air out if that’s an issue for you. The grip isn’t too big like some so it’s definitely suitable for both women and men. Overall great setup for what you pay. If you can set them up to air out for a week or so, I think the smell should be gone.

Great Dumbbell Set. The stand is functional, just be careful not to be rough with it.
Update (June 2020): At some point, the stand became tilted. It doesn't topple over; it's just slanted now. I still use the dumbbells though, so I still recommend this product if you want entry-level, affordable dumbbells! Original Review: When my adjustable dumbbells broke (these: Bowflex SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells (Pair) ), I decided to buy this set from BalanceFrom. My Bowflex dumbbells were excellent quality, but they weren't ideal for the type of workouts I was doing. These BalanceFrom dumbbells are much better suited to my workouts. I definitely like these and recommend them. As for the stand, it's functional although flimsy. Pros: + They're not as long/wide as my previous dumbbells, which makes them easier to move around during basic dumbbell workouts + I weighed them and they're accurate to their weight (my scale isn't the best, but it's close enough that it should be negligible even if there's a slight difference) + The colors are inviting (and they personally make me want to hold them) + As expected, the neoprene coating and contoured handles allows you to have a good grip on it + Extra parts for the stand are included just in case + It comes with its own stand, which may be slightly wobbly, but serves its purpose (it also comes with a screwdriver!) Cons: - The stand is made of plastic, so it's wobbly after assembly - You have to carefully remove the dumbbells from it because of the wobbly stand The stand is functional. If you have someone else hold the stand upright as you TIGHTLY screw the sides of the stand together (not one by one, but a little bit on each side at a time), it should stand just fine on any surface. The stand is plastic and wobbles as I remove dumbbells from it, but it doesn't wobble much and hasn't completely collapsed or anything. I will update this review if it ever does. Basically, if you're the careful type, I feel the stand is fine. Even if you don't like the stand, you can just choose not to use it, since the price is great solely for the dumbbells. For the price, I feel the stand's quality is forgivable. Again, I recommend them if you want a nice 3-5-8 dumbbell set.
