After a few months of use the housing is still dust free on the inside which leads me to believe it is adequately sealed to prevent explosions. Naturally I haven't intentionally tested this because I didn't want to destroy the cabinet and myself, but considering how well it's sealed it seems to be doing its job. Thr wiring was easy to hook up and it's exponentially brighter than the old light that was in there. If you don't have a dusty/hazardous environment like a blasting cabinet with organic media to use this in, it will also work great as a work bench light or a light in a work van. Before I'd have to struggle to see through the dust in the blasting cabinet but now it's very bright.
