I bought this because I wanted to use a professional microphone through my phone while using the app, Smule! It was about time I tried my hand at a more studio like sound! The item works perfectly in attachment to my iPhone 6S because of the lightning port! It also charges my phone while it is plugged in. Super useful for multiple ways! Some people get this so you may attach a camera (with the USB port) and transport photos. I haven't tried it myself but I'm sure that works! For sure, I will have that option in the future with this little guy! It's durable and well-made so, it looks like it will last. For those of you buying this item for the same reason I did (with Smule, I mean), be aware that you will need to use a microphone that you can plug your earbuds into. If you try plugging in earbuds to your phone, like how you do normally with Smule, while your mic is plugged in using this adapter, you will not be able to hear the song in your ears. Yes, you can still sing with said microphone you bought, but you will not hear the song you're singing. My microphone has a plug in port for earbuds to which I used whilst singing on Smule and I can both hear my voice in the microphone and the song from Smule. Keep that in mind! Hope this helps!!

I bought this for my girlfriend's phone. She has an iPhone, I have an Android. I can view external storage devices just by plugging them into my phone. When we plug the same drives into her phone, either directly or with a hub with charge-thru to provide additional power, the drives never mount. I saw that Apple produces a camera adaptor (for $40) that allows you to view external storage devices on an iPhone I decided to try this one since it was a quarter of the cost. Even without supplemental power, when the drive was plugged into the adaptor and the adaptor was plugged into the phone, the drive mounted and i was able to view photos and watch videos directly off the SSD without issues, just like i can on my Android with only a cable. Kind of seems like Apple designed it that way to make you have to buy another thing if you wanted that functionality. If you have an iPhone and want this feature, I recommend this adaptor. FYI, it is not clear from the photos, but the adaptor DOES NOT have a USB-C port, it has 1 male lightening, 1 female lightening, and 1 female USB-A port.

i’m using the product to connect a usb mic to my phone for recording. the usb adapter part works fine (which is probably the more important part), but the charging port doesn’t work at all. without being able to keep my phone plugged in and charging, i’m limited in how long i can record using my mic. update: the seller reached out and offered a solution for me, so i’m happy with how things turned out!

Bought this to replace an official lightning camera adapter which presented issues with a DJ controller (Hercules DJ Control Starlight) I am using with an iphone. When the controller was connected to the official adapter, it would constantly disconnect and reconnect every few seconds. I tested this with two different iphones (6s and XR) and got the same behavior and I tested the controller with a laptop and there were no issues there, so I suspected no problem with the controller itself or its cable and suspected the adapter to be the issue. Replacing the adapter with this one made the issues go away on both phones. Note: the software I used with it is Algoriddim djay.

Worked well

I’m really disappointed with this product. When I bought it, it was advertised as one of the best on the market, but my experience was very different. It works well when connected to my iPad and through the USB port. However, when I tried to use the USB-C port, the cable did not fit at all because the opening is too small. Because of this, I couldn’t use all its features and felt like I wasted my money. In my opinion, it is poorly designed and I do not recommend it.

When it stays connected it’s works great, occasionally it comes loose in the slot/plug-in.

It works well with my iPhone 13 Pro, I’m able to transfer files from external USB drives easily.

Does indeed do what it's intended to do. Nothing here to remark about.

Couldn’t find much info on the Web on connecting my ancient Iomega external hard drive to an iPhone. I wanted some files from HDD copied to my iPhone 12 and vice versa. Was pleasantly surprised when Iomega-HDD popped up in my files app. Dead easy to copy pictures and videos onto the HDD and to move files about on the HDD and copy files from HDD to my phone. It’s a big chunky HDD, not a flash drive. Lot cheaper than the Apple one and looks like a solid, well made device in excellent packaging. And, as usual, amazingly fast delivery on Amazon Prime.

Works as it’s intended. I did a ‘test run’ on this product to see if it would actually work as an alternative to the overpriced ($50) Apple version, and it works perfectly. I use it as an adapter to connect my high-end microphone to my iPhone, and to charge the phone at the same time for filming quality YouTube videos with better sound quality than a phone’s microphone. Definitely recommend it, save a good $20 or so with this instead of Apple’s version.
