When it came I wasn’t sure it would work because the design is simple and the plate looks very much like any other deep plate or shallow bowl (actually good things). It really helps my Dad eat without spilling which makes him happy (a really good thing). My Mom and the aides who help them have all noticed how much easier it is him for to eat. I got 3 more plates. He originally used them for dinner entrees and vegetables but they have also replaced his cereal bowls. This simple plate can help patients maintain some independence. The conventional appearance of the plate (it doesn't look like something for the disabled) adds to the ability of my wife to eat her meals with dignity.
