Black raisins are black because they are supposed to be made from black grapes (which have more polyphenols than green grapes). Other brands of "black raisins" are really derived from green grapes (green grapes turn dark when they are not preserved with sulfur dioxide). True black raisins (also called royal raisins) are made from high-polyphenol dark grapes. This is the brand to buy for genuine black raisins made from dark grapes.

I loved these golden raisins.

Great Raisins.

These raisins were not very good. I cannot eat them. Might sound strange but to me they taste like the way motor oil smells. My son tasted them and I told him what I tasted and he said the same. They just aren't fresh or something. CI am sorry. I really wanted them to be good.

This is gr8 for Christmas black, or rum cake and for also making Easter Bun.
