Too sensitive
It's a nice package, takes two AAA batteries (not included). Light feature is a nice plus. But it is VERY sensitive, alerting 6-8 inches away from the live wire. This makes it impossible to determine which wire in a bundle is actually live (or which one is not). Incorrectly states, "3 levels of sensitivity" but, in fact, you can't adjust the sensitivity -- it's just that more lights light up the closer you get. Although it states the lower limit is 12v it even activates for 5v USB cables.Works to tell if a single wire is hot but not very helpful in a junction box or distribution panel.

Works as advertised, great customer service
UPDATE: The seller got in touch just after I returned it and very kindly sent me a new one. This time it worked great; it lights up red whenever I touch it near a live outlet and also has a flashlight.—-This didn't work at all for me. I put in two brand-new AAA batteries, and though a little white LED lit up (so I knew the batteries were working), pressing the power button did nothing, and neither did touching it to live wires when I tried putting in a new light switch.

Seems good; Time will tell
I will be using this as part of my home inspection business. While I have only tested it in my home, it seems to sniff voltage from almost a foot away. This could be bad when I am trying to figure out exactly which wire is hot if I encounter a large mess of wires. The flashlight feature is a plus.

Good if you only need it once
Worked fine the first time I used it. Remained stored for a couple of months without the batteries, I tried using it yesterday and it didn't work. It seems to be a common problem...

Too touchy
Too sensitive. It goes off for DC, and lines that arw showing under 3 volts. I can't trust it.

Returned
Didn't work at all. I tried 3 different sets of batteries, 2 that I know were brand new or fully charged rechargeables. Wouldn't turn on at all so I sent it back for a return.

It beeps all the time and so confusing. Cheap product. Do NOT buy.
It beeps even when there is no power. Defective product I guess. Do NOT waste your money on this cheap product.
