These crayfish (Procambarus alleni) are great for aquariums and can grow up to 5 inches long. Caution should be used in choosing tank mates but most active healthy fish will give them a wide berth. Even faster moving bottom dwelling tank mates can stay away from their claws. The one pictured is one of our adults and shows the color potential. During molting, the crayfish may temporarily lose color.
