Nifeliz DDA40X Locomotive Building Set with Base, Collectible Steam Train Building Toy Model for Adult Train Lovers, Ideal Gift for Home Décor (1603 PCS, NF10296)

I put this train set together with my 7-year-old, and it was a fun! It took us about 2–3 days, working in a few-hour stretches. The instructions were decent, but there were a few areas where they could be clearer—some steps required a bit of guesswork (but no more than other big box brands I suppose). That said, the final result was absolutely worth it! The build was engaging, the pieces fit well, and my son loved seeing the train come to life. Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys detailed building projects! Totally worth the money- I will buy another set again.

It arrived sooner than expected, and it's a beautiful addition to my set of Nifeliz trains. I had no problems with the build and no deformed or missing pieces. This train is quite long but very sturdy, and it barely fits on my shelf. lol The earlier train sets from 2022-2023 didn't include a display base like this, so to maintain consistency with my display I chose to not build the display base. One thing I was disappointed with is the new format of the instruction book. The pictures are smaller to fit more assembly steps on each page resulting in a smaller book; however, the smaller pictures make it harder to identify colors and distinguish some small parts from each other.

Excellent train project model, although it’s not exactly the diesel train I was looking for, but it absolutely makes up for it with its size and scale. Instructions were detailed enough, with some mild confusion on my end for the placement of certain parts or the particular method as to which I was supposed to attach certain pieces. I wouldn’t call it exactly “kid-friendly” as there are a ton of small pieces and I managed to injure myself assembling it, as well as it being particularly heavy overall. Looks great on my shelf, and gives me half a mind to modify the wheelbase and attach electric motors and lights to it just to take it for a spin on some tracks. Satisfied overall, but left hoping someone replicates an Amtrak Genesis or Charger train, or at least hoping I can find an ET44AC like I was originally searching for; plastic brick trains feel much more fun than small simple replica metal trains.

Cheaper than Lego but the instructions are not as good. My grandson can handle it .

Fun build, went together easy and the directions were great! Will be purchasing more in the future!

My husband received this for a gift and absolutely loved it! Its awesome once built!

It's an awesome set. The size is perfect! I scored this a 3 because the instructions were very annoying. Lego shows different angles while assembling. This set did not. I had to use a magnifying glass in order to see some of the proper connecting points. I'm a huge fan of the DDA40X locomotive so everything else is awesome. The price wasn't too bad either.
