Not a household soap, talk to your doctor before using
It's Hibiclens; I'd generally say overall if you need it, you know what it does and why you need to use it. Well, one would hope your doctor explain why you be required to use such a powerful antiseptic. Throughout their lives, most people would find it necessary to wash with Hibiclens less than a handful of times. It's most often used by the general public the night before a major operation(although I've been given individually wrapped rags day of the last few years) with the intent of killing as many possible potential sources of infection. Some bacteria may be harmless or helpfull on your skin but deadly if they find their way internally. Postop infections are incredibly severe; they pose a considerable risk to your life and are quite brutal on your psyche. If your doctor tells you to wash with Hibiclens, don't dismiss them, thinking that your antibacterial body is good enough. It's not. However, if this is going to be the limit of your need, there is no reason for you to buy this gallon size jug. They offer more appropriate sizes for preop patients. Hibiclens is also used to sterilize instruments before surgery as well. Essentially, what I am trying to convey is that this is not an antibacterial soap that to be used for everyday handwashing around the house. Regular, nonantibacterial soap works just fine for nearly all circumstances that come up during the day and before meals. (overzealous use of antibacterial hand soap can be dangerous) Hibiclens is a medical product and should only be used by those who have been directed to by their doctor. The blue bottle that listed here as the professional variant is the same thing as the white(i think it's white) bottle. The particular blue is the universal color for Hibiclens in hospitals; that that is why the listing says professional. It happened to be cheaper the day I order it. Both are the same excellent product. If you do need the gallon jug, buy the hand pump as well; it's outrageously priced, but the amount of soap you save pays for it. I have a medical condition that requires me to use Hibiclens all day after everything. The immunosuppressive therapy I'm on leaves me extremely vulnerable to infection. I buy the gallon jugs and refill foaming soap dispensers that I keep by all the sinks. When I use it, it works effectively, killing bacteria thoroughly, when I get lazy, or I feel too unwell and skip refilling the bottles. I'll use regular soap for a week or two, and it almost always leads to another trip to the hospital. Wash your hands with Hipacleanse for 30 seconds, and you have "sanitized" them, killing 99.9% of germs, wash for three minutes, and you have sterilized them, killing 99.99% of bacteria. It may not seem like a lot but think of it as the difference between the person making your sandwich in a restaurant (99.9%), and the person sticking their hands in your body cavity (99.99%)

Great product for clean up
Working and living on a farm, we ALWAYS wash hands before coming into the house. Product works. But good luck in finding a 1 gallon jug anymore. Solution might be, for us, to purchase 4 - 32 ounce jugs since 1 gallon = 128 ounces. We'll find out whether these companies actually sell you the correct volume.

Must have for people who play close contact sports
I have two teenagers that play sports all year. I bought this after multiple doctors visits for skin infections. This works great! I have the kids wash with this after wrestling tournaments or other high contact activities. No more skin infections since we starting using. Pros: - works well to prevent skin infections (and possible complications) - medical grade- this is what hospitals have patients wash with before a major surgery to prevent surgical site infections - saves time and money on doctors visits and filling prescriptions - reduces the need for systemic antibiotics that can have unintended effects (GI problems, yeast infections, antibiotic resistance) - prevents having to sit out of sports because of skin infections and reduces spread to others - this is a huge bottle that will last a long time Cons: - very thin but is not supposed to be used like a regular soap. Dilute with water and apply to areas exposed to contact (avoid eyes, mouth, sensitive parts). Wait a few minutes and wash off. Make sure you read and follow the directions on the bottle. - expensive, but we’ll worth it. Saves a lot of money long term (see pros).

The best antiseptic soap!
I’ve been using this soap for years now and it has become a staple at my house! I have kids, pets, and I have clients that come into my home on a regular basis. I feel more confident using this soap vS regular hand soap to keep spreading bacteria and germs at bay. I originally bought this soap in a small bottle to help with body acne and while I don’t struggle with that anymore, I still use this in all my foaming soap dispensers, in all my bathroom and at my kitchen sink. It does have a slight rubbing alcohol smell if you put your nose right up to it, but it isn’t bad and surprisingly, it does NOT dry out my hands. Regular hand soap dries out my hands SO bad. It feels stripped of all oils after I use it. this soap however, does not and that a huge win! It might seem cheaper to buy hand soap but this gallon last a very long time and it goes in the foaming dispenser so it really does stretch far.
