40322 Black Beauty Ultra Grass Seed, 7 lb

I highly recommend this seed. I started my lawn from scratch including new soil, and this grass flourished. My yard was fully covered in about 5 weeks.

My lawn is beautiful. Perfect for dead spots. Only wish I could tear out the entire yard and use this brand. It's slow to grow but when it comes up, it's thick and so green.

Take the extra time to establish this grass seed. It takes a little longer than usual but it is well worth it. Stays a very pretty green color even in drought situations

We bought this because my SIL suggested it. It germinated well and is doing great. Time will tell if it stays nice. We've planted other grass seed in this area and it came up just fine but petered out about mid summer the next year. The roots on this grass is supposed to reach up to 4 feet!

This grass seed for lawns works great 100% For me and these are the reasons why don't expect to have a lawn with bad soil that is heavily compacted and never been fertilized or lime treated treated to just grow as you throw seeds on it minor top soil yes you may grow a patch or two here in there with success or no success perfectly true and still grow weeds galore along with it. But let me first start out with you must have good soil not dry rock hard compacted soil and weed beds that have never had weed killer sprayed on them or an organic treatment takes time plus average grass to start growing in certain months is 7 to 10 to 15 days just to see germination and 29 days for Kentucky blue grass it must be treated limed or gypsum and fertilized and then grass seed with a good 1/2 inch to 3/4 of and inch of top soil of choice . yes its true many have had great success with no treatments but in reality if its dry hard soil you cant even get a shovel into it then how can you expect its gonna grow seed that is suppose to grow down into your soil never gonna happen with out tilling it turning soil over or core aerating it and liming it and fertilizing it then wakes up soil that has weed seeds under it yes better believe there growing out with your grass too like i said it takes stages now i started in march we are now in September and have had the hottest California San Fernando Valley Summer Heat in a long time and this grass survived and is doing great ill show you some bad areas where no grass grew for months no grass at all and then with extra work and more seed and time it filled in nicely. After watching a YouTube video which was sponsored by this company I bought the seeds and did exactly what the guy did on the YouTube video. Turns out this seeds to be useless and I didn’t get any results (pics are attached) nothing grew after 2 weeks don’t waste ur time and money buying this brand clearly it is not worth it. Worth mentioning, we tried this brand before nothing grew after the first time as well, and I gave it another chance after watching the YouTube video i spent so much money to have a green lawn, however it turned out to be a scam and clearly the green lawn they show on YouTube video is not achieved by their product.

UPDATE 6/13 - The seller has sent me one additional courtesy bag. Any more needed will be in me. However, I really didn't want to mix grasses so I get the opportunity to go over the patches that didn't fill in. Y'all, I trait think this will be a beautiful grass when the total yard is complete and I look forward to updating with pics. Sellers offered great customer service and like I said below, this is one pretty blade of grass🤩 From Earlier This Week- ok, so I'm going to post this here but I will reach out to the seller a week to see if e can fix this. The color of this grass is an amazing deep dark green with thin blades which I love. The problem is-- the grass doesn't fill in the way it should. I think it's because either the seeded area on the bag didn't actually match the area it said it should fill. Or worse, the quality of seed in the bag has some fillers in it that didn't cause it to germinate correctly. This was brand new lawn. I had an entire upheaval due to drainage issues so I had to begin again. I did allllll this research on grass-- almost a little obsessive. I love in NC and the parts that did well were un-affected by the deeper parts of my soil having clay. I watered and watered. Everyone teased me about my designer grass and how much I paid for it when Kentucky 31 would've been cheaper. However my 35x29ft back yard i really wanted this to work. I will ask the seller about another bag. If y'all can get this to work it'll be pretty grass but for how much extra seed i bought the turnout should buy be like this. Before overseeding with a filler quality seed i will still attempt this to be a full black beauty yard

I received the grass seeds on October 27. On October 28 I planted them on half of my back yard just to try it out but with not much expectation. On November 3, six days later there were already tiny shoots. I was so shocked because everyone says that grass seeds takes forever to grow. On November 12, 15 days later there were even more grass growing steadily, and by November 20; 23 days later, which was yesterday, my yard was filled out nicely. There are still some bare spots to be filled in, but hey it is only 23 days and the grass are still young. I was so thrilled that I purchased more seeds to do the another portion of my yard, which I planted on Nov 15 and yesterday Nov 20 I saw some shoots already showing it's head. To prepare the soil I used (Scotts turf builder starter food for New grass + Weed Preventer) , along with garden soil which I didn't have much of , and even the part that did not get garden soil grew grass. I also used epsom salt in the soil before planting and then I covered the seeds with peat moss, and some areas potting mix when I ran out of peat moss. So happy, this saved me from buying grass Suds like I did for the front yard. Make sure to water the seeds often.

It was very expensive 7 pounds bag at $107.00 however, after using, I can guaranty there is NO BAD WEEDS AND NO FILLERS. I took a bit of time to see it grow but it is so far the BEST SEEDS bought. I will buy it again...

Quick germination. Nice bright green results. Best to plant in the fall after aeration.

No issues with the seller. Product came within a week of ordering. The seed however was not as amazing as everyone says it was....at least for me. It took the seed about 12 days to germinate which was a bit longer then expected. My germination rate seemed more like 60-70% rather than the claimed 90%. Made sure to water 3 times a day for the first week and then twice a day for the 2nd. Maybe it was something I did...not sure to be honest. The seed/sqft rate was also pretty off for me. I ended up using close to double for the area they recommended. Besides that, the seeds that did germinate look good so far. I think I had my expectations too high for this seed since I paid a premium to get it here in Canada due to Covid. Would probably suggest other Canadians who want to get their hands on this seed and can’t cross over the boarder to settle for something cheaper. Can’t say it was worth the extra I paid. Still don’t think it’s a 1 star product though. No way all the people who highly praise this product are lying. I could just be a bad gardener...
