Full Spectrum Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf - Traditional Ayurvedic Herb - (100 Capsules)

I've only been using this for about a week and it really does lower blood glucose levels. My morning tests used to always be over 100 and when I take one of these just prior to my last meal, my blood glucose levels are in the 60s in the morning.

2017 My previous review was from 2011 when I first started using herbs to help control my blood sugar and sugar cravings. I used this herb with Banaba and my sugar cravings went away. In fact, after being on this herb for a few months I didn't want sugar at all and if I did try to eat a candy it would make me nauseous. I had to stop using these herbs during my pregnancy with my son and didn't come back to them again till now, 3 years later. This worked before to stop my sugar cravings and I am hoping it will work again- this time I am on insulin instead of oral medications and my A1c is 7.2, without using any herbal supplements or insulin. My next A1c is this summer to see how well the insulin is doing and hopefully by then the Gymnema will have stopped all my sugar cravings-which I seriously feel like a chocolate junkie and quitting cold turkey was not going to work. I plan to start using Banaba again along with this. I've been using this product for 4 months now with other Swanson herbs to control my type 2 diabetes. Metformine doesn't keep my GL stable all day or sometimes at night, so I wanted to try something else naturally to help. I've not had any side affects, nor does it cause low blood sugar in me. I take 1 before each meal with a couple other Swanson herbs to keep my blood sugar stable and it works well. I've tried some other health food store brands and for me they work just fine, but there was no difference between theirs and this one or any other Swanson product I am taking now. Always monitor your GL when on a new herb or vitamin to see how it will react in your body, because everyone is different.2011

I use it for blood sugar control and strengthening of the pancreas. seems to work - my blood sugar is under control (hard to tell though what's doing what, since I also radically changed my diet and do other things as well). can't beat the price though!

A high quality addition to my supplement line up. I look for performance standards and I’ve found them here. Gymnema supports my blood sugar regulation goals as I age.

UPDATE: Swanson reached out after my review and offered a refund, which I very much appreciate. I give them props for standing by their product and reputation. ------------------- These smell grassy (not unpleasant), but I don’t think they are really doing anything to change my desire to eat. At least after 2 months, I’m not noticing a difference and neither is the scale so I don’t plan to get these again.

Easy to take. These do not irritate my stomach like other brands

I’ve had this product for about a month now, and I’m quite pleased, as it works well, and is an excellent value. It works best for me on an empty or nearly empty stomach, right before eating a meal. Definitely try it first when you don’t have to drive anywhere, etc., just to be sure it won’t crash your blood sugar too far, too fast. Personally, I don’t experience any lightheadedness when taking them this way. The x date on my bottle is October 2024, so plenty of time to get them used up. I don’t take these every day, only when I feel sugar is calling my name. As an example, I woke up this morning craving my favorite cookies with powdered sugar frosting. And when I say craving, I mean Jones-ing. A “cannot focus on anything else” kind of craving. Took a capsule with a cup of coffee, and about 15 minutes later, I was fine. Ate a normal breakfast. The cookies are no longer calling my name. 👍🏻.
