Review: it is useless. As the receipt has been lost and I ... - It was advertised as reconditioned and fully operational. The DVD side works physically but will not play the DVD. The VCR side will neither play the VHS tape it has trapped, nor eject it. In other words, it is useless. As the receipt has been lost and I don't want to pay to return it, I am just out the money. I will never buy another 'slightly used/reconditioned' item on desertcart.

**Q: why is dvd not playing but vhs still plays?**
A: Maybe you need to clean the DVD player.  Possibly the disc itself is scratched too.

**Q: I want a vcr recorder and player that will record from tv and then play it back**
A: This one will not record from tv. It is play only what you need is one with a digital tuner. The one I have will not record.

**Q: does the tuner have digital**
A: AS far as I remember the answer is NO. Ours broke shortly after we got it.

**Q: Will this play my older vcr movies and be compatble with my samung smart tv?**
A: If it has av cable ( red yellow white) should work perfectly
