We have used litter mats for a couple of years after getting fed up of wet newspaper under the litter tray. This mat is the first one that actually fits the area we need it to cover to trap stray litter. It is a very easy material to hose down to clean. The seller provided a comprehensive guide to litter box use which would be great for a new cat owner. Perfect for the job.

The only question is, why have we not found this product earlier in life? Our cat is now 18 years old and we have wasted our time on trying all sorts of things to keep cat litter inside the litter tray and not everywhere in the house. Thanks for bringing this product to the market! Works perfectly well, litter that has been flicked or carried out of the tray is easily brush off the mat. The cat does not mind the feel of the surface under her paws, so very good all round.

Does the job well and I really liked the info email sent by the company on purchase. Unfortunately my cat has decided to start peeing directly on to it and I just can’t keep taking it outside to hose it down. Cleaning up urine from the kitchen floor is more of a job than vacuuming up litter so it’s going out. Would recommend to anyone if you have a well behaved cat though

It traps the litter that the cat kicks out or has caught on his paws as I use Sanicat it’s grains are small enough to go thru the mesh & is big so he doesn’t jump over it so has to walk on it. I think this is a great product 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I bought two of these mats to go under cat litter trays, however I think the strong smell may have put my cat off. I am letting them air out and may try again, otherwise I will use them as door mats as they are very sturdy and I think will do the job well.

This has helped stop some of their litter (I have 2 cats) being strewn across my black tiled floor, still have chalky paw prints to deal with but I'm glad I have bought this mat as it's not half as messy as before 😺

Great product so easy to use. So far so good at catching the litter that my messy cat leaves all the time. Really love the idea of the company helping other cats with the purchase. Such a good idea!!

Great mat, works well. It has a mesh weave that catches the litter, so you need to use a litter with small pieces. The instruction sheet suggests using a box with a hood, turning the box towards a wall and placing the mat between the wall and the box's entrance/exit. If your cat won't accept a hood I'd suggest a box with higher sides - and possibly additional mats around the box (depending on how much litter your lovely kicks out and how much it bothers you). The instructions say you can shake the litter back into the box - its more accurate to say some litter can go back in. Some will fly elsewhere and some will stay trapped in the mat. I think vacuuming the lot is easier. It also says the mat is hand-washable; I haven't tried that yet. I bought this mat for the litter box our new kittens use. They are in their safe room overnight as my 16 year old cat has yet to accept them. I was sweeping several times a day and almost every other morning was finding bits of poop all over the floor. They'd kick it out and then play with it. Gross. I've had this mat for several days now: I don't need to sweep daily (a little litter does escape) and there have been no poo incidents. I may buy another one for the other litter box.

I love my new Pawkin Litter Mat! I've tried other mats that allege to prevent litter tracking, to no avail. Pawkin's Mat really does work. If I step on it, the mat feels soft and I don't get litter on my socks. The size, larger than most litter mats, means that my cat walks further before leaving the mat, thereby shedding more litter from her paws. I've vacuumed it with a hose attachment on a fairly low setting and the litter comes out without damaging the mat. I appreciate that the Pawkin mat is phthalate free, as animal studies have revealed that phthalates can can damage the liver, kidneys, lungs, and reproductive system — particularly the developing testes. (I didn't even know what a phthalate was until reading the description of Pawkin's litter mat!) While this mat was a little more expensive that what I've paid for litter mats in the past, it's definitely worth it and will clearly last a long time.
