The perfect starter bow set..
This is a great starter bow! Which is where the kids and I needed to start. It goes together pretty easy and has held its draw power for quite awhile. We ended up buying some better arrows as we’ve gotten a little better, but the ones that come with it are pretty good since you’re likely going to put it into a rock or something a few times.

Excellent Starter Recurve Bow
As a kid, I had both a kid's compound bow, but my pride and joy was a wood longbow that I got from a relative. As a native american, I have a soft spot for more traditional bows, and have done no hunting. I understand the benefits of the compound bow, but just feel more 'connected' to a longbow or a recurve bow.Anyway, I really wanted to get back into archer after several decades of not having been able to do anything with it. I work in a youth outdoors program, and archery is one of the things they get to do. I have been living vicariously through them, but felt it time to get myself my own 'starter' bow. This set doesn't disappoint. It's a breakdown recurve bow, meaning that you can take the limbs off for storage or transport. The pull weight is nice and light (for me, anyway), so I was able to start shooting right away. It's a good size for me, as I'm not a very tall person with long arms. If I were, this would be too small due to the draw length. This kit includes some (cheap) arrows, targets, the bow string, and a stringer that I'll likely never use. I learned how to string bows on my old long bow as a kid, so I don't need this. For real beginners, this is a nice bonus.I do wish it had better instructions, as there was no info on the 'arrow rest' or whatever it is, that appears to just screw into the center section of the bow. I put it there, since it fit.Overall, I really like this bow, and will continue to use it until I decide to move up to something bigger, better, and more expensive. You can't go wrong with this one if you want to learn some basic archery.

Better than your average starter bow
As a long time user of archery equipment, for both fun and hunting, I certainly feel the JAKUNA Recurve Bow and Arrow Archery Set is by far superior to most of the starter kits you'll find at a big box sporting goods store. And I have 2 of those already for my kids.As advertised, it would fit both Adult & Youth and is basically a nice beginner bow at 54" Height. The stated draw is 18-40lbs which is manageable for most ages. The included arrows, armguard, quiver, and target are very basic and really nothing special. Nice to have, starter pieces. But the real value is where it needs to be, in the bow riser and limbs itself. For me, I'm mostly impressed with the aluminum riser. You can easy take the bow down or replace limbs if needed. Good for convenience and for storage. Plus it feels nice and sound in the hand, unlike many starters bows. I feel it will last for many years and many shots, allowing for lots of practice and fun.The limbs connect very easily and seem well made. Plus the included string kit makes for easy string assembly. This is an area where you can run into challenges with other bows, so I'm glad they included it with this one. Both of these items may not last forever. But it makes replacing things easy for when the time comes. So I'm very happy with the bow itself in all aspects. The arrows are fine, but nothing special. The tips are the kind that tend to fall off when stuck into a foam target. Do yourself or your kids a favor and get the kind that have tips that are flat to the shaft (after you wear these out). All in all, a much better bow for a beginner or for fun/practice compared to the plastic and fiberglass ones hanging on your local stores shelves.

So far so good, nice bow!
I really like this so far. My specific use case is for a teenager “graduating” from the one piece starter bow into something a bit larger. This is perfect, and is a fitting challenge. We have it at 20 lbs which is indicated on the wooden parts of the bow. This comes up assembled, with detailed (w/ pictures) instructions and a stringing device also included. The main piece appears to be aircraft aluminum, with perfect screw holes (no odd threading or burrs present). Everything assembles with precision and is super easy. The two flexible parts of the bow appear to be several layers of wood or bamboo glued together and milled, with a nice and homogeneous black finish on both sides. Lightweight, flexible, and very smooth. There is a warning to avoid extreme temperatures as that can compromise the glue; but they mean truly extreme, and not a hot day in the desert, which is within the tolerances here. Basically, don’t put it in your oven, or lean it against a hot exhaust pipe on a motorcycle!Never “dry-fire” a bow! This is a great stepping bow from the childlike archery sets but not quite a compound level bow. Perfect for the amateur, and someone who mainly wants to target practice without messing up their arm/shoulder!
