Good enough for who it's for!
Let me start off by saying that I've been roaming through various models of different brands, and snowballing through all the reviews ultimately choosing this brain bucket. And there's a few here that complain about the Virginia Tech 2 star safety rating. Let me say this, I see no discernable evidence to suggest that outside of an extreme discipline of riding, a helmet makes any difference in ones safety. On the contrary, there IS evidence that points to riders being more prone to risk taking with a helmet on rather than off. So the two star rating, outside of taking a rock to the head or flying over the handlebars at Mach Jesus is a moot point and this brain bucket will and does provide ample protection for 99.99999% of spills. Having said that, my 1 year old and I have recently started riding around The neighborhood and local bike paths on my daily rider with the little Thule Yepp shotgun seat. I have a rather stylish Giro Scamp for her enormous noggin so as any good parent should, I wear mine to set the example. On to the helmet. I have a long face with a big forehead, but the circumference of my dome measures at a whopping 55 1/2cm and every helmet I ever tried sits so high on my head leaving me looking like a proper dweeb. If I'm going to eat it, then I'll do so in style. I know it shouldn't matter, but alas, it do. The Giro Fixture 2 sits nice and low around my ears covering the back of my head entirely and the adjustment dial in the back provides a good range to make it snug, and comfortably I might add, it is super lightweight, remarkably comfortable (though a cushion for the chin strap would be a welcome addition), and it channels air through the vents efficiently keeping me and my receding hairline nearly sweat free. The clasps are easily adjusted and it boasts a lovely aerodynamic profile that on a solo ride, I forget that it's on, even after a few hours in. As far as shading goes, I wear sunglasses every single day ride, but it does help provide some coverage. Other reviewers have posted the damages sustained on a spill and I have confidence that In My commutes, what brain cells I have left are in good hands. In other words. This is a solid all arounder that's good enough for who it's for, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Girlfriend Loves this Helmet!
Took a chance on this helmet during Black Friday, and bought it for my girlfriend. It's not an exact match, but she has a teal bike and I didn't want to get her a black, white, or pink helmet. We both just got bikes, and I assembled and tuned them while she was out of town; I wanted to surprise her with the bike being finished, some upgrades, and helmets so we could get riding right way. I wasn't sure if she'd like the color, but she loves it. In fact, she loves the helmet. She says it's light but feels high quality, and she feels safe and confident riding on the road while wearing it. She really likes the blue color, and how easy it is to dial in the fit. Plus, it's designed to work well and be comfortable with a ponytail, so she likes that as well. The chin strap is easy to adjust, and now that she has it set how she likes it she barely notices the helmet when it's on. I explained MIPS to her as I'm familiar because of motorcycle helmets, and she likes that safety feature a lot. Finally, she loves that it has a visor, and says it's placed perfectly to block out the sun but not affect visibility.

Fit's like a glove, nice air flow over my head.
I have recently become serious again about bike riding. I had a Giro years ago that saved me after coming off my road bike at 30mph and landing on my shoulder and head on the road. i have a great deal of respect for a quality helmet, It has been almost 20 years since that fall and I miss riding and feeling like a kid - and staying in shape too , so I decided to get back onto a mountain bike and get back at it. Product change over the years, bikes, gear ect. some for the good and some not so good. I read many reviews and asked different folks about helmets. I decided on the Giro again, brand recognition is one reason, saving my head from a serious concussion is another. I received the helmet a day early, out of the box it fit perfect, and the neg reviews about the straps not adjusting properly is unfounded. Chin strap is adjustable, straps fall naturally around my ears and the adjustment knob on the back is good for more warm head gear during the winter rides. As a foot note - I am 68, I was in my first bike race in 1971. The only helmet available at that time was a Styrofoam plastic thing that was supposed to cushion the fall, things have come a long way in 50 years - Thank God I always keep a helmet on my head when riding and this one is easy to wear, I didn't really notice it after a few miles. Good design, very light and very cool (I bought the white)

Good for a Giro
Great fit. Light weight. 2 reasons for the 4 stars. First is the non adjustable straps on the sides (note: the chin strap is adjustable). And the visor is way short. A white helmet comes in handy during those blistering hot days here in South Central Texas.

Highly Recc!
This is the best helmet I have EVER worn. I have a weird head shape (widens towards the back), and it's super difficult to find a large helmet that doesn't make me look like an egg head. this one is super light, durable, comfortable, and stylish! It is a bit pricey but 1000000% worth the price.
