Smells wonderful

I've been buying Yankee candles for years and still love them but wanted to try something new. This candle is great and has everything I need.

This is my favorite candle. Scent is always personal, but for me this is perfect. The heady sweet of gardenia balanced perfectly with the darker scent of the Tubereuse. I get about 30 hrs of burn time for each candle. It is a clean burn, none of the issues that some candles have with the wax getting watery or out of balance with the wick. The scent easily spreads through the open living area of my house (about 600 sq ft) more intensely than almost any other candle I’ve ever tried. Plus the shipping is lightening fast and packaged extremely well. Edit: I'm about 15 of these candles burned and they still are my top. I have a new six pack coming in a few days and will show the current packaging so you can see any packaging issues seem to be far in the past.

I am an avid lover of candles and I treat and care for them very well, so when I leave a review you can feel comfort in knowing that the review is coming from someone who takes good care of candles. I keep my wick's trimmed properly and I burn them correctly making sure to liquefy the entire top layer of wax so I do not get memory rings, this is especially important with the first burn. There are several factors to think about when deciding if a candle will be a great fit for you. The scent is the most important factor for me, and the linger factor is very important too. Another factor that I consider is if the candle burns evenly, and also how long it last because I want something that is worth the price tag. I also want a candle that doesn't have that waxy smell or smoky smell. I like a lead-free wick whenever possible. I take all these factors into consideration when I rate a candle. Scent- I find that scent is truly a matter of personal preference and therefore this is the one area that is kind of a matter of personal taste. Some people like fruity scents or floral smells. Some enjoy tropical or food or fruit related scents and so on and so on. Some people love a strong scented candle, others like something delicate. Where some candles really beat out others is the linger factor, it does not matter if the candle is delicate or strong it should linger, a good candles scent will still linger hours after you light it. I feel like some people will rate a candle poorly based on a non understanding of scent styles and expectations. You cannot expect a delicate scented candle to fill and entire living room, something like that may be good for a relaxing bath or just to scent the bathroom. If you want a candle that can scent a large room, go for a scent style that is strong. With all these things touched upon here is my review of the Paddywax Purple Lavender and thyme candle. This candle has a intoxicating and exotic scent, it is very different. This take on lavender is different and if you are a lavender lover this style will please you. The scent is by far the best thing about this candle and it’s what helps me to forgive other issues because the scent is just that amazing. The problem area is the fact that it does not burn evenly and when you first light it, there is a slightly waxy smell but as the candles get’s burning that exotic scent takes over and it overpowers the waxy scent. The candle does have a long shelf life and the linger factor is there. The scent does linger and once you light this after a good twenty minutes the smell is everywhere so you can use this in the living room or bedroom, wherever. The candle is attractive and makes the room feel decorative it has a cool look to it and that’s always a plus. You can repurpose the jar for something else once it’s cleaned very well. My overall wrap up- I gave this 4 stars because it does last and it is attractive, as well as the fact that the scent is outstanding. The only negative is the fact that it does not burn evenly, that’s a serious bummer so it loses a star but other than that this candle is unique and nothing else smells like it.

I have purchased and enjoyed this brand of candle before. However this purchase was disappointing. The jar is charming, but no scent, citrus or otherwise, is present. Thought maybe the scent didn't carry in the open kitchen space I originally placed candle so I moved it to my tiny bathroom. Nope...still can't detect a scent even after burning a few hours (very uneven burn btw.) This purchase was a waste of money.

I love this candle , it smells so fresh and festive , perfect for the holidays.I haven't issues with the candle and burning it looks so nice through the red glass. Great candle!
