I ordered this remote as a replacement for my Samsung TV, and I’m very impressed! It worked right out of the box without any setup—just inserted the batteries, and it was ready to go. Luckily, I haven't yet lost my original remote. I have, however, decided that I need more than one to make sure that I can use the TV IF the kids or neighbors lose it for me. I also have some spares in my offices at church where we have several Samsung TVs. The remotes are identical to the original, and they pair very easily to your existing TV. The buttons work well and have a similar feel to the original. Everything works well--but this is a much better value because it's about a third of the price as the original.

never did work right

This remote would have worked well had the manufacturer not cheaped out and installed a tiny IR LED with the leads clipped really short. You can see in the pictures how far back in the plastic case the LED is. This results in the majority of the IR light being kept inside the remote housing, so the remote doesn't work unless you have it pointed perfectly at your TV's IR receiver. I didn't have to add this remote in my TV's settings, it just worked. Which would have been nice had the remote itself actually worked without perfect line of sight. I do plan on trying to extend the LED leads to get the LED closer to the IR window to try to improve the performance or swap out the LED for a bigger IR LED if that doesn't work. But that isn't something that I should have to do.
