A very good value for an hourglass. I love the size, shape, and color. The "sand" is actually very small glass beads, like that used for sand blasting or sprinkled over wet paint to provide reflectivity. This is a good thing; greater uniformity in size and less likely to get "stuck", as other hourglasses sometimes do. A small amount of sand will stick to the glass. A gentle tap will loosen it and it falls through in about a second, so it doesn't affect the accuracy. For the 60 minute hourglasses, the seller claims an accuracy of +/- 6 minutes. That's a pretty wide range; probably 2 or 3 times the actual variation in run times. I measured 1 hour and 22 seconds (although the exact time may be temperature dependent). I got it for the aesthetics, not an accurate time peace, and I am very pleased with it. The seller said the glass is borosilicate. This is the same type of glass as Pyrex (TM), and is used in glass coffee pots. It appears to be solid and well made. I liked it so much I ordered a smaller 30 minute glass to keep on my desk at work. Verdict: BUY! Update 1 (a few days later): 30 minute Rose Red color hourglass [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078H82WWD/]. I give this 4 stars; docking a star because a small (but quite noticeable) amount of sand clings to the glass when running. Runtime measured (once) at 30 minutes 6 seconds. Remarkable. The sand clinging issue may be related to the coloring added to the sand (really, very small glass beads). I ordered the 30 minute white sand hourglass in the same style to see if the sand without coloring has any issues sticking to the glass. Update 2 (a few more days later): 30 minute White color hourglass. Solid 5 stars. I ordered the 30 minute glass with white (uncolored) sand to see if the color affects how much sand sticks to the glass. I am happy to report that only a little sticks to the glass (much less than the Rose Red color), and it is easily dislodged with a gentle tap.

This was a gift for my brother. He painted a room a darker shade of green & we love the contrast & compatibility. Received on time & in carefully packed condition. It functions well, timing out 60 mins.

Love these. We bought 3 different sizes. They all came packaged well and are a good addition to our conference room space. I wish they had some bigger options but I was grateful that they had different sizes for the impact I was looking for.

An elegant way for time keeping. I absolutely love these. Tried a few colors out, and sizes. I have time blindness so it’s hard for me to be aware of time passing and I realize this was a great tool to aid in that. I realize the 15 minute one was best for that purpose. The 30 and 60 minute ones go to slow, I just ignore them and check out - as I do with time in general lol. But the 15 minute one is so actively moving. It’s very live right in front of you so it helps keep you present. Amazon suggested another brand with a pale gold color that’s really sophisticated and goes well with my interior design. So Ill return this and keep that one..super happy though. If this is what you want, it’s beautifully made, and look classy and elegant. Fantastic four a sophisticated office, client meetings, anything where you’re on the clock but don’t want to tacky clock in the space or having to look at a watch.

Beautiful, heavy, great size. But glass extremely thin. Only complaint is tips to easily, if it falls over, it breaks. Otherwise a good value. I’d buy again but I’d prefer to have the option of a fitted base to maintain stability.

Update: Just bought a second one, equally well-made and attractive, and likewise acurate within 20 seconds in an hour. (That's better than some watches I've owned!) I'd drop half a star, if possible, for the dust that clouds the top hemisphere when all the sand (actually, glass microbeads) runs out. It's fairly minor, barely visible in diffuse lighting, and comes down with a few taps. But seems unnecessary if the "sand were air-sorted or something. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ More solidly made than many others - robust enough for real-life use, not just as decor. And the one I bought keeps *exact* time: 60 minutes and 1 second, where others are off by ten minutes or more. Well done!

I bought this hourglass to remind me to stand up and sit down in regular intervals throughout the day after acquiring a varidesk at work. It came very well packed with bubble wrap, inside of styrofoam inside of a cardboard box. I love the design - simple and classy. The sand is a bit paler in color than I expected - I thought it would be a bright teal, but it's acceptable. I thought the little Inspired/Productivity tag would be metal, but it's just paper. I'll probably end up removing that. It's a good size and doesn't seem top heavy when you flip it, which was my biggest concern. I timed it, and it took 30 min and 28 seconds for all the sand to run through. I don't require accuracy, but I thought that was pretty good, especially after reading many negative reviews about these timers running at 20 min and such. Overall, I'm quite please with my purchase. As long as I don't accidentally knock it over and break it, it should be just perfect for my needs, and it's very pretty.

It's exactly what it's supposed to be. Pretty, functional, nice quality.

Great for tracking time without watching the clock. Keeps me on track to meeting goals in my work day!

Leider ist die Funktionalität nicht vorhanden. Nicht immer - aber von Zeit zu Zeit - läuft der Sand nicht durch. Der Durchlauf stockt einfach und kann nur durch heftiges schütteln wieder in Gang gesetzt werden. Außerdem bleibt im jeweils oberen Sanduhrkörper Restsand an der Innenwand haften und fällt nicht eigenständig in den Durchlauf. Beides deutet auf zu feuchten Sand hin, mit dem die Uhr befüllt wurde. Bei dem aufgerufenen Preis eine Frechheit!
