i bought this for $9.95 a earlier this year, now it's $29.99, seriously?????

I feel you!!! Same here. I purchased the HD ones which were a step up from these 2 years ago for $16. They have also doubled in price to $34. This of course is due to greedy corporations who are still profiting off of the Coronovirous. During the onset of the virus, anything having to do with virus prevention and protection saw a drastic price increase. In fairness, this was due to supply & demand. However, since supply and demand is no longer an issue we should no longer have to pay double the cost for a box of DISPOSABLE GLOVES!! Hopefully, this company isn't being greedy and just happened to purchase a huge quantity of the gloves from the manufacturer when the were extremely high and the company is just selling them high in order to get their money back on them. Only time will tell, but for now I'm holding off on buying these gloves for their current price.

No review is giving me a clear answer, can these be used in medical applications? Specifically for first responders .

I wouldn't, as they need to be doubled for use with some cleaning products; they are, however, better than other cheap boxes of gloves I've ordered via Amazon. If you're using them as a first responder, I'd double, or even triple the layers, but I might consider that for even professional surgical gloves. How do they do with chemicals? Parts cleaners?

I've exposed mine to various petroleum and citrus based cleaners (working on cars and bikes) and have had no problems.
