Based on the various reviews that I read before purchasing this product, I was a about 50% confident in what I was going to receive. I need the carrier for two trips coming up and if it survived those, I would be happy. We just completed the first trip and I was more than happy and surprised at how well the carrier performed. On the outbound trip across the mid-west we encountered some very strong winds, rain, and even some hail. The carried held up splendidly and we didn't have any leaks or damage. On the return trip, the wind gusts were so strong that we could feel our vehicle swaying in the wind. Again, the carrier out-performed my expectations. I would highly recommend this product.

I only used it once, and it was a nightmare. Trying to load balance the items inside was a constant hassle. We had to pull over every 20–30 miles just to tighten the straps again. And don’t even get me started on how awful the aerodynamics are—my car’s gas mileage dropped from 21 mpg to 16.5 mpg on a single 450-mile trip. Totally unacceptable.

Left us with a log of car space. Durable. Easy to put on and came with jumbo gym bags

This item is 100% not waterproof! Everything I had in there was wet and a lot ruined. I sent the item back with this being my return reason. Now if you can keep from driving in any wind or rain it would be a good solid cargo carrier. But it should be labeled as a non waterproof stroge bag. Definitely wouldn't suggest this purchase. I will update the review after the return process is finished from the water damage to my belongings.

Took this on a 6 hour road trip and did great there and back! Plenty of room for multiple suitcases
