My husband is a writer. He ALWAYS has several pens in his pockets. Several shirts have been "inked" due to tops not being secure, or a click pen being left with the pen out and slipped back into his pocket. He usually wears the expensive Columbia fishing shirts, so this was a big problem. He did not want a cheap, plastic looking pocket protector. Finally, we found this! It's AMAZING!!! Let me say this first...we LOVE Hide and Drink products. They are ALL handmade and well made. We have several earbud clips, key clips, the leather cover for a journal type book, and we have a pencil/tool roll. Their quality is excellent, and all well priced. This product is exactly as pictured. Shipping was uneventful, and arrived before the initially projected delivery date. This is a very simple and functional product. Thick leather...and it fits well in any sized pocket. It serves its purpose. Just the other day, yet again, my husband slipped a gel pen back in without snapping the lid on tight...ink leaked. His shirt saw none of it. The leather soaked up the ink and saved his shirt. We couldn't be happier with this product! No more multiple rounds of stain treating fabric with ink for me! That stuff is stubborned...and most of his fishing shirts are the lighter colors. It's just awesome! We were SO happy to find this! It was difficult to find one made of real leather for a reasonable price. We looked on Amazon for a year without finding what we wanted. We were NOT going to pay 50 bucks for the only real leather one we found on here...until I searched a few weeks ago and found this. I really can't tell you how much we both love it. We bought it in brown and black! For him to want one of the same product in every color they offer speaks to its functionality and quality. Bottom line...if you are looking for a REAL LEATHER pocket protector, look no further. This is the product for you. It comes with a card (every product from Hide & Drink does) telling you who made your particular item. (Thank you Ana!!!) They come in a nice, burlap bag with a leather strip tie...just a nice touch. Those little bags come in SUPER handy for things. My husband wears clothes with LOTS of pockets. He ALWAYS has on either a Cabela's Safari Vest or their lightweight Safari Jacket...specifically for the many pockets and the pocket room. He keeps mini binder clips, ear buds, a small pad to write down thoughts, and more...you might find the kitchen sink in one of those pockets lol. He put his mini binder clips in one of the small burlap bags...and a charging cord in the one this pocket protector came in. Like I said...super handy lil things! Don't ponder on this any longer...these leather pocket protectors are AWESOME and they get the job done! It WILL save your shirts from ink stains!!! Hide & Drink offers excellent products at excellent prices...and the handmade quality is a great (and these days, handmade is rare), and the personal touches this company extends are really wonderful. We will ALWAYS be Hide & Drink customers...this company and their products are wonderful!!!

I'm a nerd and I've used many different pocket protectors. I'm in education so I typically always carry around a whiteboard marker/flipchart marker, chalk keeper, and ballpoint pen. The best think about pocket protectors is not that it protects your pocket (that's just a bonus), but that it keep all of your pens nicely organized. Being a veteran pocket protector user, plastic ones haven't held up to repeated use for me, so I started thinking... what's a (somewhat) stretchable, durable, renewable, and cool looking material? The answer: leather. The H&D pocket protector is extremely good looking and well crafted. It has enough stretch to the leather that it easily accommodates my two larger writing implements while still allowing enough room to accommodate my ballpoint. I probably could even squeeze another ballpoint in there if I wanted to. My one criticism is that my old pocket protectors are just slightly wider and therefore fit more snugly in my pocket than this, but the flap does help hold it in place since it doesn't fill the entire pocket. This really is a good choice if you are looking to ditch the plastic. I've had several people compliment me on how good it looks... which as a nerd... just tickles me pink... with embarrassment over not knowing how to accept a compliment.

Better than I could have hoped for. Constructed of full-thickness, well-tanned handsome leather, the pouch is well- and properly-stitched. All the places where it would typically wear and come undone, have well-reinforced stitching. The size is right for five pens, and it is a pleasure to handle and hold. The interior is soft enough tomnot damage pen finishes. It came in a lovely, sturdy cloth bag that will have it's own usess as well. All-in-all, a work of craftsman's pride and highly recommended! I will be buying another one soon!

I'm always trying to find a way to organize my pockets, mostly because I'm always overfilling them with junk. Keys, pocket knife, pen, screwdriver, thumb drive... things get crowded in a hurry. I needed a way to keep a pen, a Sharpie, and my Klein pocket screwdriver from falling to the depths of my pocket. A pocket pouch like this one is perfect. All it does is keep those three items from rattling around. A simple, effective solution. The quality is good. Some people have complained about crooked stitching. Mine was sewn slightly crooked, but you won't notice unless you go looking for it. It certainly doesn't affect the function. I like the way it looks, too. I treated mine with neatsfoot oil when I got it, and the leather has darkened to a deep brown. Maybe some day I'll treat it with some paste wax to see if I can gloss it up a bit. It's a simple pouch that solves a specific problem and does it well. I'm just happy I can find my own when I need it.

I was concerned that at such a low price point the leather and/or sticking would be questionable, boy was I wrong. I am amazed at the leather quality and tight stiching. Nice patina on the exterior and so very soft next to my pens. I purchased to carry in my pants pocket but once I saw how nice it is, I've moved to my shirt pocket. Pulled our and set on the conference table first day I took to work and couldn't start our meeting till I passed around for all to see and feel. No one believes what I actually paid, so had to pull up online and show all. My wife has already asked me to order for her and her staff as well as our kids. So many uses other than just pens and pencils (knife holder, stylus, etc...)
