## Description

It is the year 2032 A.D. Like a Phoenix, the city of MegaTokyo is rising from the ashes of a devastating earthquake. In the twisted canyons of the megalopolis, the Knight Sabers, a small band of high tech mercenaries, fight a lonely battle against the evil GENOM Corporation and it's sinister androids, the Boomers. Venture into an all too probable future, where technology has run amuck, and emotion is all that separates Man from Machine.

Review: Bubble Gum Crisis forever! - Fantastic master of the cult classic. One of my favorite all time anime OVAs. The art and amazing music is timeless. I just wish they were able to properly finish this amazing series. I know BBC 2040 was a good remake with an actual ending but it doesn’t have the grit or soundtrack of this original. This one will always be my number one. It’s hard to top the opening scene with Konwa ya hurricane. Epic.
Review: One of my favorite anime, now on Blu-ray. - I've bought before the original DVD's and the remasters. I love AnimEigo's collection of anime they have. Furthermore, I finally got the money to buy this Blu-ray collection. Now before this one disc set, AnimEigo had the Ultimate three disc limited editions. It came with all kinds of extras on the other discs such as the comics, books, pictures, music, interviews and so on. The one disc set was made for the budget minded people like myself who just wants to watch the eight episodes, either Japanese with English subtitles or English Dub. But it comes with two galleries of pictures. I prefer to watch anime in Dub form. Either good or bad. However, the English Dub of Bubblegum Crisis is still fantastic, as many fans said the voice-overs fit the characters they portray as well as the English Dub Music. All the actors are still working today. Some of them, I found on YouTube, such as the actor who voiced Leon, still has the same voice today. OVA, aka Original Video Animation. The show is about the Knight Sabers, who wear hard suits, fight Genom, a corrupt organization who creates boomers, artificial beings who look like humans, with some wanting to hurt humanity. The leader of the group is Sylia, the biker Priss, the all around girl Linna, computer hacker and cop, Nene. They are aided by AD Police officer Leon as well as their allies. Genom is led by Quincy. Another Genom employee, Brian J Mason, is responsible for the many deaths in Tokyo. Eventually, the Knight Sabers stop his reign. But he returns as a boomer called Largo. Again they stop him. Their other adventures are against a deranged driver wanting to kill bikers, an obsessed girl who's twin sister was killed by boomers, a rogue Genom employee trying to make a name for himself as well as a vampire boomer, trying to live a normal life with her friend, whom she has to kill in order to save her. The characters are all fantastic. Sylia is the beautiful leader, smart, intelligent, and shy. Linna, a tom boy like Priss, gossips, flirts with men but unable to stay hooked to one, but is the all around nice girl in the group. Nene, the weakest member of the group in the beginning, works the AD Police as a cop and rides along with Leon. Priss is the biker girl. She helps and defends the poor, homeless, and weak. She hates the AD Police for not helping her find her boyfriend's killer. But eventually she likes Leon, the AD's second in command officer. Their relationship grows close and in the official soundtrack, Priss confesses her love to Leon and accepts him as her boyfriend. But in the sequel, Bubblegum Crash, there is no mention of their relationship until the very end, when she makes Leon take her and her friends for lunch. The show is also known for its soundtrack. The English music is one of the best music in anime. The English rock music is fantastic. You can find the English unofficial music on YouTube. If you were to watch in order, first watch AD Police Files, Bubblegum Crisis and finally, Bubblegum Crash. There was another prequel called Parasite Dolls, but it isn't good like the other three OVA's, and it's rare to find. There was a remake called Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. I didn't like the remake. The Blu-ray disc has excellent picture and audio. If you want to grab the extras, such as the comics, pictures and PDF RPG books, type in animeigo wiki on your web browser, and you'll find the official site with tons of free stuff. The subtitles on the other hand are sometimes wrong. Wish the company had made sure the subtitles were looked over before. I watch my movies and shows without them. In the end, I bought the Blu-ray. It contains the eight episodes. I love Blu-ray over DVD because the disc will last a long time as DVD's, once they're scratched or damaged, are gone unless you own an expensive disc repair system or know a place who resurfaces discs. Besides, one Blu-ray disc is better than the four discs that the DVD remastered had, as they only had two episodes on one disc. If you love Bubblegum Crisis, pick up the Blu-ray edition.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Splendid and classic Japan Anime in 198X AIC / ARTMIC age. With outstanding music.
*by C***N on April 3, 2024*

Splendid and classic Japan Anime in 198X AIC / ARTMIC age. With outstanding music. Enemy is some kind of cyberpunk thing, with lots of action. Also, AIC / ARTMIC tend to destroy their own office building in their anime. It is nice to have BD now. The old VHS / LD picture quality is bad (480p or less), and VHS / LD player is not available now.
