Dude, You're a Dad!: How to Get (All of You) Through Your Baby's First Year Paperback – April 18, 2013

I bought this for my brother-in-law and he loved it! He liked that he had a book geared to dads versus the ones my sister was reading made for women. He said it was very helpful and funny to read.

Bought this for my husband to read while on deployment. He thought it was funny and has been using the tips out of it since he got home.

Had to learn some stuff on my own

This was a great book with a lot of great info for a first time dad. Was written with a fun down to earth mood. Very helpful.

I haven't made it all the way through but so far it has a very anecdotal feel. The writing is very casual. I'm sure the tips are good, but many of them are too obvious if you've read much of anything else on the topic of taking care of a baby. I guess I prefer a more academic tone or a literature review on a smaller number of more contentious topics as opposed to the "Hey, bro, make sure you moisturize your baby's skin." I guess the title should have given this away. If you're like me, you will probably prefer "Cribsheet" by the economist, Emily Oster. Her books tackle the tough questions.
