Radical Mycology: A Treatise On Seeing And Working With Fungi [Peter McCoy] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Radical Mycology: A Treatise On Seeing And Working With Fungi Review: SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE - You will appreciate the personality of this book - this is hands down my favorite that is scientifically tuned and I genuinely look forward to reading it every night. As others have stated: it is dense with information, starting from the general and working up to a comprehensive study and guide with many fun applications - I mean it when I say there is definitely something for everyone and you will not regret buying (my mom bought this after 30 minutes of looking through mine). Unique about this book: You can start from the top or skip ahead to a chapter you need, and he will reference and mention where he discusses the future information or predicated knowledge relative to the current context if you are like me and need to know all the details. One last thing: everything is covered... you will *not* need to Google or YouTube another subject or buy another mycology book in addition to this - the time I spent pouring over the other books on desertcart, should have been solely invested in this piece of literature. Review: A library must have! - As described and on time shipping.

Awesome book!
This might be my favorite book. This book is perfect to geek out to mushrooms. Multiple times, I started getting very excited by the information I was learning. For instance, endothermic mushrooms are known to live symbiotically with 95% of plants, but if a plant develops a problem and becomes a danger to the ecosystem, the same mushroom that was previously helping that plant can actually switch roles and kill the plant, preventing it from damaging other plants. That blew my mind.

Great book
I really like this book. The last time I purchased mycology books was over twenty years ago when when I got Stamets books. I like how this book shows how mycology can be more accessable to the home cultivator. It has lots of charts and ideas.

Want digital version, excellent book but the binding could be better
Excellent book, but the binding should be made better. Another problem i have is that i travel a lot and find myself in weird locations and would LOVE to have the kindle version to read. Currently i’m writing in a 6’ tunnel , 130’ in the air and i have run out of pictures i took in the morning to read at work during down times. PLEASE make this available digitally! As far as info, it’s golden and i highly recommend !

Journey into a world of wonder.
If you got as far as reading this, it would be a shame not to get a copy. For me it's a deep sea of wonder. I'm just learning to swim but loving what I can digest and there's no hurry. Peter McCoy's love for the world shines throughout. I'm very happy I bought it.

If you have to own one book on the subject....
If you had to have one book on the cultivation of mushrooms, i'd pick this one. It's a mega-reference of information on medicinal and edible mushroom mycology.

An extremely comprehensive book covering just about everything you could possibly want to know about every aspect of fungi - from cultivation to their myriad uses. It also weighs a ton!

I'm only a chapter through Radical Mycology, but it's amazing. I have read everything by Paul Stamets (which I love), but so far there is more scientific info, which seems to go very in depth. It's a monster of a book, not something you can take in your bag on the bus. but you will be captivated at home for hours. It's versatile too, from lichens to mushroom jokes, I can't fault this book. I love it. Can't wait to finish it. (And read it several more times after that, I suspect)

An excellent encyclopaedic and practical resource for amateurs and professionals; pedagogy at its best! Well written and structured. Thorough, informative, well-balanced and up to date. From classic mycology and its cultivation techniques to more challenging aspects of post-modern mycological and humanistic theory and practice.
