Great product - with a catch.
Works great on my 1,800 gallon 7x14x2.5 ft pool. You must have a cover (bubble wrap type) and a full pool cover to retain heat! If you skip this step you will regret your purchase and think it is useless. Heat retention is key. Without the cover my pool will drop from 90 to 70 degrees overnight, even with the heater running. With pool covers, I can heat up the pool from 90 to 95+ overnight easily as long as outside temps stay above 35. This heat pump will not be effective at freezing temperatures. If you live in a climate with regular below freezing temps then source a heat pump that works in your region. Easily heats my pool from 80 to 90 degrees in 6 hours at 55 degrees with a 1500 gph pump. Pay attention to pump size and dont exceed maximum rating for your heater!

It heats the water!
Works as it should. We use it for our stock tank pool and keep it at 93 degrees. We use a solar cover which helps a lot to prevent heat loss, you must have a solar cover at minimum. The temperature reading is a few degrees off but I adjust accordingly, not an issue. The wifi was finnicky but I put an extender in my porch and now it's perfect, so that must have been a ME issue.. On a couple nights we got the stock tank pool up to 101 degrees (could have gone higher but that's enough for me). Great heater. I have it hooked up to an electricity monitor, costs $0.23 per hour to use in the Midwest. I'm using a 900gph pool filter that runs 24hrs a day ($0.03 per hour) and the heat pump turns on when it needs to. No complaints, hopefully it lasts a few seasons. I did run the cooling once and it did cool it. The output is about 5 degrees hotter on heat, and 5 degrees cooler on cool.

Doesn’t heat very much…
This product is advertised to heat inground pools up to 12000 gallons. It cost me $500 to get it installed plumbing and electrical. We have a 8500 gallon inground pool the temperature was 75° when we turned it on… we have had both the pump and heater running now for 24 hrs and it only increased the temperature 4° we set it for 87° and it’s currently 79°… we are tracking the hydro and we will update how much it costs after 36 hrs of constant running as well as let you know what temperature it gets to for the 36 hrs of operation…. So far we are not impressed….🤨

Great Quality
I ordered the 40,000 btu heater on a Tuesday at 6:00 pm. It was in my driveway the next day at 1:00 pm! (It shipped from a location 90 miles away, but still impressive!) It was packaged nicely in two heavy cardboard boxes with foam pads on bottom and top. I saw zero shipping damage. The shipper did leave it lying on the end - even though the box is cleary marked with a "THIS SIDE UP". This could be important since it has an oil-filled compressor. Just be sure to let it sit correctly oriented for at least an hour before powering it on. There are two handles built into the cabinet for easy moving, but it's pretty heavy. Not a big factor in my choice, but i did like the grey color better than white or black. The fit and finish on the cabinet is very good. It is a very nice-looking unit. It came with two 1.5" pvc adapters, so it was easy to plumb to my existing plumbing. I was also pleased to find that the power cable was already installed and ready to connect. It even had terminals attached but I cut it off to the length I needed. This made wiring to my existing breaker a 5-minute job. There is a control panel (thermostat) mounted to the side with a protective hinged cover. The control panel is backlit but the controls are a little cheap feeling and the icons are tiny. I would give it a 1/2-star knock for this, but overall I'm good with 5-stars. The control panel can be used to change the set point, set the clock, and change modes. You can also program a schedule, but i have yet to do that from the control panel. There also seems to be a troubleshooting menu, but I haven't looked into that. My favorite way to interface with this heater is with the wifi app. It's one of the easiest wifi appliance apps I've set up. You can control most features with the app from anywhere. It also has a query screen where you can see water temps, if the compressor is running, if there is water flow through the unit, etc. This could be a valuable troubleshooting tool. You can set up a schedule from the app, but it's not as full-featured in this department as I'd like. I tried the heater on the first night. The outside temps fell down to about 62F, and the water was 91F the next morning. We kept the solar blanket on overnight as well. By the 10:00 am the water was 93F. The outside temp got up to about 86F at peak. I then tried the cooling and it switched back quickly and started cooling it down. Our pool is in-ground 12,000 gallon, so it will take hours for a heater like this to make significant changes, but it seems to be doing what a 40,000 btu heat pump should do. This heat pump is VERY QUIET! The little noise it makes is a pleasant hum... .mostly just the fan blowing is what you hear. When in heat mode, very cool air is being exhausted from the unit, which could be good or bad depending on its location (vise versa when in cool mode). This isn't a ding, just a heads-up. I solidly recommend this brand. If I have any issues. I will update.

So far so good
I purchased a different brand heat pump for my hottub and I had to return it because of how loud it was (its fan sounded like one of those bounce house blowers, it was obnoxious)...I was pleasantly surprised that this unit was no louder than a small window a/c unit, perhaps even quieter. The fan is basically silent, the only thing you can hear is the compressor but it seems they install a sound blanket around the compressor making the unit run as quiet as possible. The heat it outputs is beyond adequate for my ~200 gallon hottub, when not in use the unit only needs to run for 25-40 minutes every 6-7 hours! When in use, it has more than enough power to keep up even with the lid removed on the coldest of nights (for my location, high 30s-low 40s)...this is exactly what I wanted becuase the original electric heater on my hottub was very weak and the water would become luke warm quickly with the jets on cover off on those cold nights and I would need to get out. The defrost mode seems to work well, only pausing heating for a minute or two to thaw out and then going right back to heating. No doubt this unit is going to save on electricity with how well it heats and how little it needs to run to keep temp on my hottub. I have only two minor gripes. 1. The app control is hit or miss, doesnt connect unless im near the unit despite being paired to my router. But again, this is minor because I dont expect the need to monitor or control my hottub unless im there in person. 2. The default temperature differential was set at 4 degrees from factory. The manual provided gives zero info on how this can be changed. I.E. if its set to 104, it will let the water drop all the way to 100 before restarting to heat back up to 104. Reaching out to the seller, they were able walk me through a secret menu on the display to alter this setting. This secret menu seems to have a long list of different settings that can be adjusted. I asked the seller if they could provide data on what all these other settings do, and they seemed to not want to tell me... asking "what else do you need to adjust". This unit isnt cheap and I paid for and OWN IT. What I want is a list of what all the settings are on something that is now mine, it doesnt matter if I need to change anything else right now. All of these settings should have been outlined in the manual, i shouldnt have to pull teeth to find out what they are. The controller inside the unit looks like its made by some other company, so I might see if I can find more info on it that way. Deducting a star for this headache. Overall a great experience.

Great Product - Outstanding Customer Service
Upon originally ordering our heat pump the seller notified us it was currently out of stock, however that they would contact us in a week when it would became readily available again. In less than a week they contacted me as promised and finalized my order as well as offered me a rebate for my inconvenience. We recieved the unit literally 3 days later, a week earlier than promised, so I imagine the seller shipped it FedEx Priority without the additional cost to us. We set the pump up fairly quickly, took two of us less than an hour as we had to disconnect our existing hoses from the pool that was already up and functioning. It did take us a days or two to learn how the heat pump operated and to optimize its performance. The WiFi set up took only minutes and is a great feature to allow you to control the unit from anywhere. The heat pump took our pool from 70 degrees to 85 degrees in a matter of 1 day. Temperatures outside were barely reaching 75 throughout the week. We have had the heat pump running on and off all week and are beyond thrilled, allowing more usage of the pool on cooler days. Essentially we run the heat pump and pool filter from 9 am to 6pm daily, with the programmable setting shutting heat off once the pool reaches 86 degrees. The heat pump also had a cooling function should the temperature become too warm naturally and you wish to cool the water down to a more refreshing temperature. Operation of the pump is costing us roughly $3-$5 per day, with an ambient temperatures between 70 - 80 degrees in Michigan. Lastly, I must say the customer service department has been amazing! They have stayed in communication with me throughout the whole process, verifying receipt of the unit and then checking in a week later to verify we were successful in getting the unit up and running. Our pool is 18’ Round x 52” Height and purchased the 30,000 BTU heat pump. We highly recommend doing business with this seller, I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!

This has been the best purchase I have made in a while. This works great even in the state of iowa. I was able to keep my pool going and additional month! Definitely worth it and easy to install. If you have a but of plumbing experience.

Great Customer service
The pool heater was very easy to set up, and overall I was impressed with the product. I did experience some issues with the control panel disconnecting from my phone, but after reaching out to customer service, they quickly identified the problem and shipped a replacement part within 24 hours. Ultimately, I had to return the heater because my climate simply doesn’t allow the pool to stay warm enough during 40-degree weather. The heater functioned properly—it just couldn’t achieve the higher temperatures I prefer in such cold conditions. Throughout the entire process, Joe from customer service was exceptionally helpful. He was kind, offered several alternative solutions, and made the return and refund process smooth and stress-free. Thank you, Joe, for your outstanding support.
