Basic Mathematics

Absolutely wonderful. I was expecting an abused book (I paid less than $15 for it including one day shipping) and was beyond content with it. It looks brand new and was more than I bargained for. Cried tears of joy for saving myself $45 (If I would have bought it at my school's bookstore).

The book is targeted at Basic Math, as the title says. It's easy to follow, with lots of examples and workbook-style problems. It's NOT full of glossy color photos. Rather, the format is two-tone and IMO eye-friendly. The contents include basic operations (+ - x division) using whole numbers, fractions, mixed numbers and decimals; ratios and proportions, percents, and basic geometric figures. If you're looking for signed number operations, there's a brief introduction here, but you might want a pre-algebra book instead. This book is about basic math and it stays on target. Solutions to the odd-numbered problems are provided. All-in-all, I consider this an excellent book for self-study or in-class use.
