I've been eating these for as long as I can remember since they've always been available at my local grocery store. I enjoy the taste of the lightly salted version, though I know taste is subjective. I've purchased them on Amazon a few times due to the lower price, and I'll always compare to find the best deal.

Tasty and Crunchy

Lightly salted (45mg sodium) Planters Deluxe whole cashews keeps salt to minimum but little seems lost in the reduction. The seasoning seems adequate and they are salty enough. Overall, the taste is good but for people with peanut allergies, note that the cashews may be processed with peanut and/or cottonseed oil. This is over a pound of cashews and because it is the large can of the deluxe variety I expected it would be a good choice for a party or holiday celebration. But, although delicious, the cashews are a smaller size than I would expect from the “deluxe” label, and there are lots of broken pieces. So, when set out on the table, they do not look very special or impressive. The last couple of bags of Emerald cashews that I purchased from prime pantry had larger cashews and more whole pieces but they are also more expensive. Everything is a trade-off, but for a special events I may switch brands. Shelf stable, the expiration date on the can is 19 months in the future.

I constantly buy these cashews from Amazon. As a vegan, I eat a moderate of alternative protein sources, such as nuts, legumes, quinoa, seeds, soy, tofu, nutritional yeast, tempeh, edamame, etc. Cashews are one of my favorites. Great on their own, with other snacks, and making recipes! I know these aren't organic or the "best of the best", but hey, it's affordable. Did you can know you can make cheese with cashews? I also love cashew milk, which you can certainly make with this product. 5 stars! :o)
