If not what kind of paint do you use?** A: Mine was black, honestly can't remember of any color options. I painted mine green using plastic spray paint. You will need to scuff them really well and clean off any residue before painting. Be careful not to scrap them during installation . My two are holding up well in the Florida morning sun. I used plastic spray paint **Q: what is the thickness size?** A: Maybe a bit less than 1/2 inch. It is not very thick but because of the holes the wind can go through has seemed to hold up well enough. We like ours... **Q: Are the edges the same thickness as the screen?** A: Yes Big panel with cut outs. Same thickness across panel. I Use mine to cover up storage under my RV **Q: is this strong enough to use for a dog crate? (dog doesn't try to break out of crate)** A: As a barrier, yes. The plastic is thick enough and strong enough to hold back a dog. I guess it depends on how you create your dog crate.
