Sensitive scalp? I've tried many... This is the only and BEST
I have terribly sensitive skin including my scalp. This includes ezcema. I often get compliments on my thick wavy/curly hair. Some days however, my hair is less flattering. Adding product makes it consistently look great. I'm not a fan of gel so I've opted to try hair clay (as the slick, glossy look of pomade does not appeal to me) I've tried nearly a dozen brands by now... One particular brand had the worst and strongest scent that I actually received multiple complaints in a single day (never experienced that before about anything). But most irritated my scalp; one even flared up my eczema on my face (yes, my face broke out, it was REALLY bad). After awhile, I gave up. But after I healed up and some time had passed, I began looking again for a quality product that was gentle on skin. Seven Potions IS that product! NO irritation on my scalp AT ALL. It is definitely a clay and will not have that slick, glossy pomade look (which some "clays" that I've tried had which is misleadingly and not my preference). It is indeed matte but without being super matte like other brands which made my hair look dry & lifeless. Fortunately, it is just the right amount of matte; a natural look. Seven Potions applies moderately easy for a hair clay. Not too sticky like some other brands. It is unscented or at least a very light generic scent which I greatly prefer. It doesn't fight against my cologne when I do decide to wear any. Having too many scents mixing around is not good. (I just checked the product page to see if it was advertised as Unscent or not, but then noticed that other reviews mentioned a terrible scent. This is not my experience. Perhaps Seven Potions took note of these negative reviews and remedied the scent problem. I bought 2 of their hair clays so I can have 1 at my girlfriend's. I bought them a few weeks apart. Neither had a poor scent. It is pleasant and extremely light. I only smell it from the can and never on myself which is a selling point to me). I would not consider this a "high hold" though. Perhaps medium at best. Then again, I do not put more than a nickel size amount since I do not want to add too much weight to my hair or start looking greasy. The hold is natural as a hair clay should be. It won't fight up against wind (this isn't hair gel). And at the end of the day, the product seems to disintegrate while leaving the volume & curls in my hair, and smooth & soft too. Due to this, it is extremely easy to wash out considering most of the time, I don't feel its presence. I don't see myself using anything else moving forward.

Hair styling clay that works!
I love this hair styling clay. You get a generous portion in the tin that's going to last for a long time. The consistency is pretty stiff, but, after warming it in your hands, it goes on really well. My hair is medium to long, and everything stays in place but with a natural "tousled" look. Too, if you've been in a high wind, you have but to run your fingers through it, and everything is back in place easily. I started growing my hair out longer, so it was important for me to find something that worked well for styling and had ingredients that were which were good for my hair. This hair styling clay fills the bill on both! Regarding all the posts on it having a peculiar smell, IMHO, the scent is in no way off-putting to me. According to my nose personally, it is lightly fragrant with a different sort of smell I interpret as clay and natural ingredients. My Mum has a great sense of smell, so I put the open tin right under her nose. She inhaled deeply and said right away that she loved it. To be accurate however, she is a little old lady. I guess it's a matter of perspective: perhaps we're used to hair-care products that have been chemically engineered to smell artificially lovely. It's a lot more important to me to put something on my hair that is healthy with natural ingredients, vegan, and not tested on innocent animals. And it smells uniquely of Mother Nature.

Great if you prefer a more natural product
The brand I had been using for years has been impossible to find so I switched to this hair clay by Seven Potions. I have very long hair, straight hair and I use this to keep the top and sides under control. The hold is decent enough to hold throughout the day, but won't hold up in the wind. It's quite dry and not greasy. And that's great, but makes it a bit difficult to apply without the proper amount of dampness/water. The smell is unique, earthy, though not conventionally good smelling like a bouquet or fruit. Perhaps that's the best for guys anyways. Most importantly, it cleans off very easily without leaving much residue. Other plusses are basic ingredients, no coloring or other weird stuff like many other hair clays/pomades.

Finally found The One
I've been on the hunt for a hair clay that works with my curly, wavy hair for a while and after a few weeks of using Seven Potions my search has ended. The clay is pliable enough for me to get out of the can and it works well with my curls. I can adjust my hair throughout the day and the clay holds. Matte texture is great and I used it in my mustache too. The smell is fairly neutral, kind of mineral and earthy which I like. Will 100% be a return customer. Also like the packaging and tin case I can recycle once finished.

Average - expected more for price
This is a decent product, but far from the best of ones I've tried. For the price I expected this to be better. The good: - Hold is pretty strong overall - Texture. Product is easy to spread in your hands to use - I actually like the smell that others have complained about The bad: It's overall just way too difficult to use; I've found that there's very little room for error when using this product. The dampness of my hair and the amount of product I use must be exact otherwise it doesn't turn out well. Once it starts to go bad I have yet to be successful in trying to fix it. Other products I've used were significantly better in this regard - they work well if my hair is more damp or dryer. It also doesn't hold up as well throughout the day as other products.

Great product. Provides good hold and rinses out easily. The scent, though not quite to my taste, isn’t really a deal breaker, as I find it isn’t unpleasant on its own and blends well enough with most of the colognes I use, at least IMO. The other reviews are correct in that it isn’t a true hair clay but more of a paste. However it behaves very similarly once applied. It has plenty of hold and provides a very natural, ‘no product’ look. The hold seems to be linked to the pastes high moisture content, as it begins to wane as the product dries, which for me and my medium length coarse hair is usually sometime in the afternoon. It applies well to dry hair though, so a quick restyling isn’t really a big deal. The big selling point for me however has been the absolutely clean ingredient list. People tend to forget that every aspect of their lives is built on the premise of their health; if I’m gonna apply a product to my body every single day for the foreseeable future, I want to be sure that it isn’t undermining my health in some way. This one lives up to that standard and still manages to keep up with the more chemical heavy competitors on the market, so I don’t mind one or two minor shortcomings. It does what it’s meant to do and does it well, without resorting to chemicals that have to be carefully dosed down in animal tests until they no longer trigger symptoms, just one more reason to look for the cruelty free label, and a BIG reason to give this product a try. Edit: the scent itself is very similar to beeswax and honey: warm, sweet, and somewhat musky.

Davvero denso e compatto.
