SKS Goodness!
This kit is works as described and includes a good set of spacers and M5 bolts, stay mount accessories... to ensure it attaches to your bike. I was intending for my Velo 65's to be more permanent and am pleased this kit is well fashioned for the cause.

Good for 26" hybrid tires
Works well with my 26" hybrid tires. It was a good thing I didn't wait too much longer to buy these, as the clip inside the back fender was beginning to wear down from rubbing against the tire. Getting the nut far enough into the plastic for the bolt to catch was tough. You'll need a couple hard, flat surfaces to push it against to help. I used the longer bar for the back and didn't need to adjust the length; I just put the bar all the way in the plastic "foot" that attaches to the frame. If you have mountain bike tires, you'll probably end up sliding the bar out a bit so there's more room in between the fender and the tire. I used the shorter bar on the front (though it wasn't really necessary since the front fender does not flop around), and it was just barely long enough. In retrospect, I would have had some more wiggle room if I attached the shorter bar to the back and longer one to the front. Both fenders feel solid now.

One major problem…
Works perfectly, but it should have been included with the fenders. Even if you have to increase the price… the fenders are not structurally stable enough for use without these stays. They sell the metal ones with the stays, so they should include them with the plastic fenders as well.

Easy to install, tweak, and sturdy.
These keep the Velo 65 fenders from slapping around in rough terrain quite nicely. Depending on the install, they might run a little long, but with the way they mount to the fork/frame, it's easy enough to trim to fit, bend to suit, and adjust in the fittings without having to be too precise with the cuts.

Needs improvement
If the fenders hug the tires, these might fit. I have 26x2.2" mountain bike tires but an unconventional frame and rack setup requiring the fender to sit higher above the wheel where these stays attach. Using the longer of the stays, I could not use the fender eyelets on my frame and had to buy seatstay clamps to securely attach the rear stay about midway up the seatstays. The remaining shorter stay would not fit my front fender eyelets and is sitting in my parts bin. I am running a suspension-corrected rigid fork so the fender sits a few inches from the tire, and luckily the extra support isn't needed to keep the fender away from the front wheel so I didn't bother buying extra mounting clamps for the fork legs. During initial testing, the forward end of the rear fender was about 1/2" from the tire. In bad conditions, it would pack up with so much mud that the wheel would stop turning. For the intended installation using the frame eyelets and fenders that sit close to the tire, it is probably best if only used on paved roads. SKS should make these stays longer so that they can be cut to the desired length. When I bought the seatstay clamps, I actually bought some aluminum rod to bend my own stays in case the clamps didn't work out. You can buy replacement stay clips from other sources/manufacturers and make your own. These SKS stays are steel and somewhat heavy, but have been very durable in this rough winter season of trail riding. Now that the fenders are properly positioned, they do a good job of keeping the mud and rocks away and staying in place.

They should be included with the fenders
It’s a shame/scam SKS sells these separate... They should absolutely be included... The short worked on the rear perfectly. Attached with ease and I have a Topeak rack as well... The long ones I have cut shorter to work for me... I’m riding a 1991 Hardrock 26 inch wheels. Plenty of hardware was included!!

These stays complement SKS mudguards brilliantly. Straightforward to fit and clip into place. Regardless of the condition of the surfaces ridden on, my mudguards no longer make any sound. 😃

I had to adapt them for my mudguards/ fenders and they are so well made I don’t think I will ever have to replace them.
