Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta, Penne, 16 Ounce

We love this stuff. Has a great texture AND flavor. It's perfect and exactly what we were looking for!

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Finally, gluten free pasta that TASTES GREAT! No weird aftertaste, and it cooks up al dente. Granted, as with any other GF pasta, it takes about twice as long to cook as non-GF pasta, but at least this Tinkyada pasta doesn't fall apart as soon as it's cooked. Tinkyada pasta holds up for reheating. You can use this Tinkyada Penne with some leftover marinara sauce like Bertolli Organic Sauce - Traditional Tomato & Basil - 24 Oz. Glass Jar (Pack of 3) and some pepperonis or Italian sausage slices, top it with some cheese, and viola you have a quick weeknight dinner. Or, toss some of the Tinkyada penne with some Purdue Italian Grilled Chicken Strips, a little seasoned olive oil, some presliced onion+peppers, some Parmesan cheese... This is great pasta. You might not even realize it is gluten free. It has a good texture and pretty much tastes like ordinary penne made from semolina. Try the energy saving cooking instructions listed on the package. The only thing I would not recommend is using it for pasta salad that will be refrigerated for more than a couple of days. It will start to get mushy.

This brand of pasta is pretty good. It's the closest substitute I've found to "traditional" wheat flour pasta. It holds a good texture when cooked, as long as you don't overcook it, and doesn't get gummy like some other gluten free options do.

I’ve tried so many types of gluten free pasta and I like this one the best by far. It’s the only one my family will tolerate (this and the fettuccini). I buy the 12 pack regularly. Note, don't go by the time on the package. I boil it for 10 minutes and find it perfect for me. I recommend trying it out until you find the time that works for you. The one thing I've noticed is the price fluctuates quite a bit. When it's forty-ish, it's overpriced. I may wait until the price is lower to buy it, at which point I'll buy more.
