Very effective at cooling
This has been a Godsend during the really hot weather, it produces a LOT of cold air. We have moved it around and it works well everywhere..... except a bedroom. My only complaint would be that the quiet mode isn't quiet at all. There is very little difference between this and the normal low setting. My wish list would be two things. A night time mode that produces a LOT less noise and obviously less cooling output, (I could live with that.) Secondly, I would like to be able to angle the airflow from the unit. The output fins are fixed and point almost straight upwards. I can't think why they have done this, but there must be a reason I suppose? The best way we find to use it is to have it running in the kitchen or hallway and leave the door half open. It produces so much cold air that you can feel it coming into the living room after a few minutes. The output hose is a great idea, it can be pushed down to about half a metre when you want to store it, then it simply springs open to whatever length you need by pulling it apart. There is also a drain hose included, but you don't need it when it is running, it is included to make sure that it is totally empty for storage at the end of the hot season. The unit looks nice and it has a modern feel to it, it doesn't look out of place in the house unlike some other makes. I would definitely recommend it, the cooling is fantastic, it's just a pity it wasn't a bit quieter.

Strong Cooling, Simple to use
Bought this to survive the ever lasting intense heat wave of the UK. Let's start with size. The unit is slightly smaller than I expected for a 9800BTU unit, especially as I have an 18.3m2 space to cool. This was to be fitted directly between 2 desks and fitted perfectly for what we needed. I did, however, need to make some adjustments after a few weeks of use. The first is the hose, initially I bought an extension kit allowing me to reach the window situated in my images, however, it was standard what plastic duct hose, and after some research I found the hose to be bleeding a lot of the heat as it became high temperature fairly quickly. To resolve this, I bought a HVAC 5" Duct typically used in cooker extractors. As this was aluminium lined, it was able to trap more heat within the pipe, finally I sealed this within the main tubing (That fit to the aircon) by removing the letter box attachment (not easy) and sealing the HVAC tubing into the main using foam sealing. See the link for the one I purchased: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GSVM9HZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 This sealed the tube and allowed for better heat exhaust. Also Have the Window dressing to allow for the tube to exhast without letting additonal hot air back in, please see the following I used: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B087WT2XZF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Finally, there is noise, it's similar to that of a slightly stronger fridge, something that I could barely hear in any other room of the house. There is a quiet mode, but as many suggested, it's not brilliant, however, this was not intended for the bedroom. The unit is very easy to set up, using a wooden support, I cable tied this to ensure the new duct remained in place, however it appears more efficient when used toward the centre of a room instead of the edge, so we pulled the main tube straight and used the full 8ft (2.5m) length for the rest (not shown in my images), this increased cooling by a lot, however if you space is small, this won't be an issue. Finally cost of running. Typically I would spend around £2.50-£3 a day on electric due to PC's, however this uses around 36p an hour of power, after a full 24 hour test I used £8.40 in electric. Expensive to run this long all the time, however as I work a lot, the unit is only on for around 5-7 hours a day. I am happy with the purchase and as I rent, having a portable unit was essential.

Stopped working after just five weeks
While it worked, this was a perfectly fine AC unit. I admit that I was a little disappointed with how long it took to cool my room, and the length of the hose made it very difficult to reach my windows. It's not particularly quiet, but I didn't really expect it to be. None of this really matters though, as after five weeks the unit powered up briefly for the last time. Delonghi didn't want to consider repairing it and insisted that my only option was to return it to Amazon for a refund or replacement. Given the item was no longer available (and now over £100 more expensive), I had no option but to return it for a refund. Amazon insisted that I needed to box it up (I had unfortunately discarded the original box), and as they couldn't offer me a collection date that worked for me, left it to me to arrange the courier. I have been assured that they will reimburse me the costs incurred to return it, but only time will tell. Disappointed at the short lifespan of the product, I will be avoiding Delonghi in the future.

Does the job well and is not too noisy
Bought this one after trying other portable air con units. They all promised "silence mode", but fell short when you actually try them out. Most sounded like a Tractor when you ran them. This unit is really quite for an air con unit, you can definitely work when keeping the unit 3-4 meters away. I keep my unit in the hallway upstairs and it can easily cool down 4 bedrooms to 22 degrees. Even downstairs gets reasonably cool. I do want to point out that this unit will probably be too noisy to sleep next to.

Worse than previous generation
We have this model and the previous generation and actually we prefer the older one. This one has a shorter hose, the way the hose attaches to the body is worse (the hose can't twist within the bracket, so whenever you try to adjust the hose it pops the bracket off) and the cooling power doesn't feel as good. Also it fuses from time to time which it really shouldn't. The upsides are that it has the new quiet mode which is quieter to be fair, and the old one fills up its water tank way quicker

Important for hot days
Easy to use. Cool enough for hot days. Just a bit noisy even though with the quiet mode but acceptable.

Great unit for one room - if you have low windows
I bought this unit during the June heatwave, based on positive reviews about the unit and the manufacturer. It is a solid construction, the wheel's work well to transport it around a floor, and it comfortably cools a large bedroom quite quickly. It doesn't go ice cold, but in the hot weather getting quickly down to 18 degrees feels glorious. The cooling does not overflow as much as I would expect through doorways though. While it is portable and easily wheels around level surfaces, this is a heavy unit. As a 6' sportsman, this is something I have to be very careful with taking up and down stairs, so smaller, less physically strong people will need help, or you're restricted to the floor it is on. You should be careful not to let it tilt, either in place, or while moving, as water has run out of one of the vents when I have done this. Now, the main problem - the hose length. My downstairs windows are 24 inches above floor level, and the hose reaches comfortably. Upstairs, my windows are 45 inches from the floor, and the hose will not reach far enough. I had to build a solid wood box to stand the unit on and get it high enough off the ground to reach the window opening, which adds a little inconvenience to placement, and a decent amount of work to custom-make a stand which keeps the unit securely in place. The hose extension kit that was recommended by Amazon was incompatible, and came with zero instructions, so was returned. Additionally, the instructions are not great. There is adequate explanation of the controls, but there are some functions (rear vent, water outlet hose are prime examples) where a single basic diagram offer you the only explanation of what you should be doing, which are not adequate. It's not made clear anywhere when these actions should be taken, or what happens when you do. All in all, this is a good unit and I'm happy with it, but the instructions need some work, and an official Delonghi hose extension kit would take care of the only serious downside.

Not quiet like they claim
Not silent. Not as loud as some of those cheap sub-200 specials but nowhere near what it claims. Claims 47-63db. Operates in cooling mode at 61 at ours best even using the quiet mode setting. The only way you get into the 50s is on fan only mode and why would you use an AC for that. Decibels is a logarithmic scale so the difference between claiming 47 and delivering 61 is huge. Also had a metallic whine which appears and disappears for no reason. Other problems which a lot seem to have is a stupidly short exhaust hose so you will need to position it right under a window. Better have one with no furniture under it as house is less than a meter and not very flexible. All-in-all disappointing even before the high price.
