I used the Back to The Roots 100% Organic Succulent & Cacti Mix for my African Milk Plant and a few of my smaller cacti, and it has worked beautifully so far. The texture is exactly what you want in a cactus mix. It’s light, gritty, and well draining without feeling dusty or overly chunky. Water flows through easily, which is crucial for succulents that hate sitting in soggy soil. Since repotting, my African Milk Plant has stayed firm and happy with no signs of root rot or stress. I also appreciate that it’s organic. It gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not adding unnecessary chemicals to my plants, especially when I keep some indoors. If you’re repotting succulents or cacti and want a ready-to-use mix that drains properly and supports healthy roots, this is a solid option. Great consistency, easy to work with, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. 🌱

I’ve lost more succulents than I care to admit to "universal" potting soils that stay damp for way too long. I bought this bag to repot my growing collection of echeveria and a stubborn jade plant and the difference in texture is immediately obvious. It’s gritty, airy and doesn't clump into a wet sponge when you water it. You can actually see the water move through the soil and out the drainage holes which is exactly what my desert plants need to avoid the dreaded root rot. The best part is that it’s 100% organic so I don't have to worry about weird synthetic additives. Since switching, my jade plant has actually started putting out new, firm growth and the colors on my succulents seem a lot more vibrant. It’s the perfect size for a small "plant surgery" afternoon on the patio without having a massive, heavy bag leftover. If you’re a plant parent who tends to overwater, this mix is basically the best insurance policy you can buy for your cacti.

I’ve always been a bit of a overprotective plant owner which usually means I end up overwatering my succulents out of pure love. After losing a favorite string of pearls to root rot in a standard potting mix, I switched to this soil. The difference in texture is massive, it’s gritty and light, not dense and peaty. When I water my cacti now, the water runs straight through the bottom in seconds rather than sitting in a swampy pool at the top. It’s such a relief to see my plants actually fresh I repotted a few of my smaller succulents into a large terra cotta bowl using this mix and they have stayed firm and vibrant instead of getting that mushy, yellow look. Plus, knowing it’s 100% organic makes me feel much better about having these plants right on my kitchen windowsill near where I prep food. It’s the perfect insurance policy for anyone who struggles to find that balance between "enough water" and "too much."

For the longest time, I believed I just had a terrible black thumb. Every time I bought those cute little desert plants from the store, they would turn yellow and wilt within a month. I never realized that regular potting dirt held way too much moisture for them. A friend suggested I look for a specific blend for dry plants, so I grabbed this bag as a complete beginner. The first thing I noticed was how light and airy the texture felt compared to standard heavy mud. I spent a Saturday afternoon repotting my entire struggling collection on the back porch. It was such a relaxing, low-mess repotting. It has been a few months now and not a single one has dropped its leaves. In fact, a few are even sprouting! Having green, healthy nature around my living room has completely changed the vibe of my space. It brings me so much happiness to finally see something I planted actually survive and grow beautifully.

A very dear friend gave me a beautiful potted aloe plant as a housewarming gift when I moved into my new place. I was so touched but I am known for bad at keeping anything green alive. Within a few weeks, the leaves were turning brown and mushy and I felt terrible thinking I was going to lose something so special. I realized the regular potting mud I had used was drowning the roots. I ordered this specific dry mix hoping for a miracle. I am a first-time buyer and know nothing about plants but the switch was incredibly easy. The mix is so clean and doesn't have any strange chemical smells which I really appreciate. I repotted the aloe, put it by the front door, and just crossed my fingers. To my absolute amazement, the mushy spots dried up, and it is now growing brand new, bright green leaves from the center. It feels so rewarding to have actually saved it, and every time I walk through my door, I am reminded of my friend.
