Cant Stop One Stop Full Coverage Foundation 02 Color Alabaster

It’s not an original product! It’s fake! DON’T BUY IT!

Tip to prolong use of this product at the end of this review. I've purchased this NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation many times. I have fair skin and find that the shade Alabaster works well for me as it isn't too dark or orange but also doesn't white wash me out either. I find that in some cosmetic brands the lightest foundation is still a bit too dark for me or just not the right shade. I believe this brand offers a few good options for fair-skinned people, it may just take some testing to find the best one. I like that this foundation is vegan and cruelty-free. I also like that there isn't any strong scent with it because I don't like using cosmetics that have much smell to them. This foundation offers good coverage and is buildable. I apply it with a damp real techniques foundation sponge by tapping it into my skin and it applies very evenly, easily and quickly like that. I wear it on top of a lightweight SPF moisturizer (Eucerin) and a primer (ELF luminous putty primer) and it works well over those. I then set with a powder (ELF halo glow). I don't find the finish of this foundation to be too matte/drying, but not greasy either. It feels comfortable over my moisturizer and primer and doesn't ever feel too built up. TIP: When you use up most of it and not much or nothing comes out of the pump anymore, you can still get several uses out of the bottle if you just twist the lid so that it is no longer aligned with the bottle (you can do this with lid on or off) and then pretty much just force it off by pulling/bending the top and the bottle away from each other until it pops off. If this is too hard to do by hand you can also use pliers or something, but I've been able to do it by hand. Just be careful and maybe do it in your sink so if it pops off suddenly you don't get makeup flinging anywhere. I've gotten used to doing it in a way where that isn't a problem but until you've done it a few times. I then just turn the bottle upside down and shake the product down onto my finger (or whatever you want to pour it on) and apply, then repeat as much as needed. NOTE: I recommend popping the lid back on for storage so that the makeup doesn't dry out inside between uses and you get all you can out of it. To me it isn't difficult to remove every time until it's gone.

When I first tried this foundation by NYX I thought I’d found my holy grail. An affordable foundation that it full coverage and actually fits my skin tone (I’m very pale with a lot of redness occasionally and this foundation covers it and matches me so well!) But it comes with quite a few downsides unfortunately that make me hesitate to give 5 stars. Number one is the consistency of the foundation. It’s quite thick, and dries very quickly. It means that the coverage is amazing, almost as good as a concealer, but blending it is kind of a race against time. If you leave it for a few moments too long you’ll find it has dried almost entirely on your face. It’s not a huge problem, but it can be a bit frustrating as you can find yourself using more of the product than needed because it dries so quickly. covering your whole face if you have skin issues like I do can be a bit of a chore. The thickness of the foundation also led to another issue I hadn’t imagined. It has ruined my makeup sponges one by one! It really does cake onto my real techniques sponge and is pretty difficult so clean off, to the point that cleaning the sponge it has actually ripped when trying to get all the excess foundation from it. If you use your fingers or a makeup brush to apply your foundation then this probably won’t be an issue! The only other little gripe is the bottle. If you were wanting to take the black plastic lid from the bottle (to get out of the last of the product that the pump can’t reach) then be prepared for foundation to go EVERYWHERE. It’s sealed so tight when really it could have just been a screw cap maybe? It’s not a huge issue though, just maybe open it up somewhere easy to wipe down when the foundation inevitably goes everywhere haha. In all I still use this foundation daily. It really is great for somebody who wants a cheap but really nice quality foundation, and it lasts almost all day for me. It’s just a shame it likes to eat my makeup sponges and dry to my skin like cement!
