Burts Bees 100% Natural Mattifying Powder Foundation, Sand - 0.3 Ounce (Pack of 2)

What with all the warnings about talc in products, I searched for a pressed powder without it.. I was unable to find anything until I happened upon Burt's Bees, It is talc free and a wonderful powder. I use it on my lips prior to lipstick and it keeps the lipstick on very well. I heartily recommend this all natural product.

I normally don't wear powder foundations, they just don't work well for me usually. I have been trying all of the burts line just out of curiosity and wanting more natural makeup. I was pleasantly surprised by this and found I really liked the finish after it sets for a little bit. It doesn't cover very red blemishes well, but that's not a deal breaker. I have other makeup I can use if my skin is being problematic. This also doesn't seem to cause break outs although I've only worn it a few times so far. It doesn't seem to cake or settle into lines or large pores as long as you swipe and not press on. after it sets for a little bit it has a nice satiny finish yet still allows your natural skin to show through. If you're looking for full coverage this is not the foundation for you.

I have had acne since I was 15. I have done it all, tetracycline, Accutane, retinol. You name it, I have done it. I have very very sensitive acne-prone skin that breaks out with almost anything. I have tried just about every mainstream foundation under the sun and was always disappointed, so much so that I eventually ended up making my own mineral foundation. Which works fine, but it takes time to apply because it's loose, I use it as more of a finishing powder now. I just happened to come across this on Amazon one day and I am so happy I found it, because it's AMAZING. I questioned the ingredients at first but I was not disappointed.As a mom of a two year old, I have about 5 minutes most days to put on makeup. And still dealing with acne, at 34, I need something that is fast and does the job. This does the job, it's so easy to put on, it covers amazingly. Evens out skin tone, calms the redness. I don't even need to use concealer with this! The only thing is that after about half the day is over my skin gets a little oily, but it does with most makeups. It would benefit from a little kaolin :) I had given up on putting on foundation because it took too much time, but with this, it's simple and easy. I can feel confident again without having to put on a ton of makeup. And I can't believe the price, such a great value.I bought the Sand color, I almost bought the one lighter than that but I am glad I didn't because this matches perfectly. I have what is called a "Norwegian" skin tone, cool/neutral pale tones, with a rosy undertone and bluish greenish veins. In this picture, you can see half of my face has powder on it, and half is bare. That's the amount of coverage it has. And it goes on so powdery smooth it's not sticky at all like so many foundations.

Unfortunately I believe this product is fake. The first time I purchased it, the tin fell out once I opened the plastic packing. It was not securely glued into the case. I figured this was odd, but perhaps the glue melted. I used the product and didn’t think much more of it. I reordered, and unfortunately the tin with the power in it was again not glued in to the Burts Bees case. I suspect that this is a fake powder being placed into the plastic branded case. I did use the powder some and my skin is having a bad reaction.

I went to Burt's Bees website and took the test to find out what shade I needed and it is the perfect shade. It's easy the apply and cover face.

I love that it is very sheer so it does not cake at all over concealer. I can see people not liking it because it is sheet and very little coverage. It is also not as mattifying as it claim as I see little mica and my nose shine thru in just 2 hours after application. I do have shiny nose so no foundation can really change that. It is great for everyday or casual day. It makes my skin look better without looking like a ton of make up. I also love that it is natural and inexpensive.

Love love love this product! I've been using this for over a year and its my go to powder foundation! It blends really nicely and I don't feel like I have to use a boat load of product to apply it to my face!Being known to breakout! This make up doesn't cause any! Which is why burt's bees is my go to foundation and I use it for my blush as well!This blends well with my skin tone in the winter as well as in the summer too! This doesn't cause me to sweat or make my face greasy after a long day at work. As long as I have mattifying lotion on first before my make up I'm all good to go! I don't even feel like I have to re apply it throughout the day. Just one in the morning and I'm done. Because this formula is a powder based, this is easy to take off at night.Traveling with this make up is easy to because I don't have to feel like "at any moment liquid makeup could spill all over in my luggage".

I recently switched to powder foundation for a more natural look, and this is my favorite kind so far. It is lightweight, but buildable, and generally stays put pretty well under my mask. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, and has just enough coverage to tone down my rosacea. I took off one star because it isn't really "mattifying" - it goes on matte, of course, because it's a dry powder, but the matte effect does not last. I have to reapply in the middle of the day to keep the shine at bay (and I have normal skin, not excessively oily).
