I have three other Frame TVs from the prior generation and got this to have a slightly larger one in the living room. It is thinner and the picture and settings are much better than the older versions. Filmmaker Mode is very handy to avoid always have to mess with settings to get UHD movies just right. It sets the TV how it was intended to look for UHD streaming movies that have the setting enabled. That is great. The new matte coating on the screen is really effective in rooms with lots of glare. It really helps with not only the realism of art mode, but also with watching TV at angles. All in all, this is a great TV. Adding your own photos to Art Mode is now much faster and more reliable than the old system. But keep your app updated! Drawbacks: 1) Not sure if the new remote is backwards compatible. If not, that would stink because with several other Frames, it is nice to have remotes you can use on any TV once paired. 2) The new UI is not as intuitive and requires extra steps to do basic things. You can see that the underlying software is the same, it just is a little more confusing now. All in all, if you are looking for a Frame, this is great. If you are looking to upgrade an old Frame, this is worth it.

The concept is great, and "Video & Audio Center - Same Day Shipping" was great to work with. TV arrived quickly, and the return process was quick and simple. Did I mention we returned it? The frame options and matte display are beautiful, but the overall functionality of the TV itself was nothing short of abhorrent. The "One Box" made a loud buzzing noise if it wasn't plugged directly in to the wall, which made it difficult to use in our living room. Had to order a longer power cable to avoid using a surge protector our extension cord. Could have lived with that if the TV itself and the hardware/software wasn't incredibly buggy and frustrating as all H***! I read some mediocre review prior to ordering, and thought I could outsmart this thing or some of the issues that others reported, but alas, I was wrong. TV would turn on and off randomly despite my adjustments to the auto on and off features using motion and ambient room lighting. It would never switch to the proper input when we tried to use our Amazon Firestick remote despite my hours of messing with the CEC settings and making sure the remotes were programmed to the TV properly. To make things even more frustrating, when I thought I had solved the input problem, and it would work properly for an hour or so, the TV would not respond to our remotes the same way less than 24hrs later. The flush wall mount is two pieces vs one, which means you need to have your measurements EXACT in order to get it mounted perfectly level. We ended up just using the feet while we made marks for the mount and by the time we were ready to put it on the wall, we were so frustrated by the TV itself, that we decided to send it back. I can't speak to other brands, but we have a Hisense Canvas TV in our bedroom, and we absolutely LOVE that TV. Display is just as good, IMO and the functionality is far more intuitive. Everything works exactly the way you expect it to. We bought this 50" Samsung Frame TV because the Hisense Canvas TV's aren't available in a size smaller than 55". We ultimately ended up ordering a 55" Canvas TV from Hisense anyway. If your intent is to use this TV as an actual TV almost never, then go for it. You might as well just save yourself the headache and hang a painting if that's the case. Otherwise, I would wait until Samsung has ironed out some of these bugs and releases a new model with an entirely rewritten interface. Best of luck!

Arrived earlier than expected and so far very happy with it.

The tv itself is great. Clear picture, art mode is cool, the gaming section is awesome. It has one HUGE con. Ads. Why on earth would they think it's remotely okay to put ads on the TVs home screen. For those who have the TV there is a workaround to disable them. Turn off Internet based advertisement service and viewing information services in the terms and privacy settings menu. Then also edit your DNS to 94.140.15.15 and restart the tv.
